So today i spent my day making this to go on my baby girl's bedroom wall :)

Really pleased with how it turned out, going to be making a matching photo frame to go with it too.

Anybody else doing anything arty/crafty or have any ideas on other things i could make or do?

I hope so! She has quite a shabby chic/cath kidston nursery with the walls painted in the same cream and pink as those letters so hoping it will look quite sweet :)

That's beautiful hun, well done! x

Looks great!

Both my girls have shabby chic rooms. Dd1 has a soft purple and cream with cath kidston type flowers and polka dots and check. Dd2 has a soft pink with cream with chandelier and fabric rose butterflies on the wall. Sounds like we have similar taste!

I've made them each a box frame with a rose background with buttons and bows stuck in. Then i've put white wooden letters in to spell little sister in one and big sister in the other.

You could do something similar with the first babygrow, shoes or socks. You can get cute little wooden pegs that you could paint.

I plan to do something once dd2 is born with the cards they put in the hospital bed with their name and birth weight on.

That sounds like a lovely idea!

I have a shadow box frame at home which i am saving for her first outfit to be put in which I have decorated around the edges of the frame with little buttons and a couple of larger butterflies in pastel colours.

Does sound like we have very similar taste lol, have also got cath kidston/shabby chic bunting up over the front of her cot and hanging on her shelves.

I am looking at trying out making these next....

Will hang them from the ceiling in her room i think.

I made this wall hanging for Millie. Its up in her nursery already :) it started as a plain square of MDF and I sawed the shape & decorated x

That's lovely! I love the colours of it they are lovely and bright. I was very torn between doing the whole of Darcy's name or just doing a larger D but ended up buying all of the letters as they were on offer today lol.

The letters i bought for doing Darcy's name were the cardboard ones from Hobbycraft. Don't think i'm quite ready for sawing things yet lol.

Lol about half way through I was seriously near to giving up. I was sweating, aching, pissed off the lines weren't straight haha! I ended up getting the rough shape then using sandpaper to make it neater. I am glad I persivered!

Love the crafty letters - they look great! I've made a couple of taggy blankets for baby (hope the pictures come out ok). Fabric and ribbon was a bargain from Ebay and an hour with my sewing machine. I love handmade stuff - so much more personal, and cheaper! xx

I love the idea of the taggys! I bought her one of the taggy things from john lewis and it cost a ridiculous amount - Definitely should have looked at making one first i think... Still got a few weeks to go maybe i could have a try lol.

I wish I had a sewing machine - but they seem quite expensive for a hobby I have no idea if I'd be any good at. They even go for lots on eBay! Don't want to pay out masses for something that could end up sitting in a cupboard!

I am attempting to knit baby some headbands! That's about all I can manage :haha:

Definitely give it a go - I couldn't believe how expensive they were in the shops, and it honestly took hardly any time to make. I even added a bit of fleece in the middle to pad it out a bit, I reckon each taggy took less than 45 mins. And they're very forgiving - if you make a mistake it doesn't show! This is the tutorial I (pretty much) followed: https://www.tarabeingtara.com/2012/01/tag-blanket-tutorial.html

I did picture frames, a wooden owl, her name, decor on the walls, printed out owl sheets and myself and our other two kiddos colored them for the frames. :)

Ah! I can't make my pic go in the post, sorry..

Well done ladies! It's so satisfying to make something special for your little one isn't it!

So far I've made booties, a waistcoat embellished vest and a pram toy. I'd love to have a go at making a taggy!

I'm also currently working on a pram cosytoes, carseat footmuff, curtains for the 3 bedrooms, a letter pillow (she will be called Jessica so Im doing a J), a lighter quilt she can snuggle under on the couch with daddy when she's a bit older.

I've also done a few cardies and an alphabet blanket (its white, just looks yellow!):

I love the pram toy - is that from a pattern or one you've made entirely yourself?
