Has anyone else had cramps around this time? They come and go and I've felt them since last night. They feel like period cramps and are down low. I checked my cervix and it's low, soft, and felt kind of open, but I know they can feel like that and be closed further up. There was also some odd gooey discharge, kind of greenish yellow (tmi).

(This is my first baby.)

I called my midwife and she told me to go home and take a warm bath. Well, I did, and it felt better while I was in the bath, but now that I'm out of the bath it hurts again. What do I do? She said she'd call back in a few hours...

*worried*

This is my first and only 16wks so can't offer any advice, but wanted to say I hope you're feeling ok and maybe call the midwife bk sooner? I'm sure she won't mind :)

Ugh, I called back and she just told me to sit in the bath for another couple hours. It's sooooo hot right now so that's tough, and I don't really see the point if it just hurts when I get out... :/

Its normal. You will experience period like cramps until the end of your pregnancy. These cramps are from your uterus growing to accommodate your growing baby.

It can indicate a problem if you are getting cramps at regular intervals or accompanied by bleeding or clear fluid.

I am not quite that far along, but I do have occasional heaviness in my vaginal area like something is gonna fall out! It is usually when I have been carrying laundry up and down the stairs or doing a lot of housework. Would you say the feeling is like that? A heaviness? I just wonder if it's the same cause I always feel better in the bath too. Try putting your feet up a bit over your heart...like elevated by a pillow for a bit and see if that helps. Sorry, not very helpful I know. Just thought I would try to offer my experiences. Hope you feel better soon! Keep us posted. :hugs:

the cramps are normal but the discharge sounds like it could be your mucus plug. get checked out hun..

It does feel heavy, and my cervix is a bit open still (I know it's bad to check and I haven't this whole pregnancy till now). Sometimes there are also sharp pains near my cervix. I got back in the bath for as long as I could stand it and it didn't help as much this time...

My midwife warned me to never check my cervix, I've never done it before but she advised against it. Maybe you could have irritated it by checking? I experienced cramping and was told it was because I'd overdone the exercise and allowed myself to become dehydrated (even though I was still drinking loads) and was told to put my feet up. I think the cramping is normal but not sure about the sharp pains, you should probably get that checked out as soon as you can, if it's nothing then at least you can relax about it a bit. Hope you are ok.

I would definitely call the midwife or doctor. They should check you or at least advice further. Good luck!

**update**

The pain progressed to my upper thighs so I called my midwife. She thankfully came right over and checked me out (not my cervix since she didn't want to irritate it). I have a UTI so she prescribed me some antibiotics and left me with some skull cap to stop the contractions... fingers crossed.

Oh goodness! Glad you got checked out. Hope it goes away soon!!:hugs::hugs:
