Hi girls... does your milk have a creamy layer on top, and have bits of creamy and bits of watery bit in it? (that sounds manky doesnt it!)

After expressing i let it cool in the fridge in the bottle, then pop it into freezer bag to freeze it. When i pour it it looks so strange compared to when ive first expressed. Is this normal??

It's the fat....make sure you don't leave all the fat behind in the freezer bag as it's very important for baby. Pop the bag into hot water to heat up before tipping into bottle and that will melt the fat:happydance:

Yup, it's normal, mine does the same. That's why I make sure to pump into the bottles I will use to feed rather than pour back and forth between bottles so I don't loose any of the cream.

It shocked me the first time I saw my milk separate after cooling in the fridge. I usually give it a good shake before I freeze it, and again after it's thawed, just to make sure it's all mixed and he's not losing any of the fat.

Mine looks the same, I usually pour straight from breastpump bottle into breastmilk back then put in fridge and shake it before pouring back into a bottle to feed, lot of messing around which is probably why I don't pump all the time now just on a night to increase supply a bit more whilst trying to establish exclusive breastfeeding! WOW what a waffle lol!!
