I just want somone to please tell me im doing this the right way!!

Over the last week iv started giving charlie some bottles, we've now got to the point were he doesnt have boobie between 12pm and 6pm i think im going to increse the time frame by an hour every few days, evencually i want him to only have his boobie feed on a morning at about 7am when he wakes up and then have his last boobie feed at 7pm when he goes to bed (not exact times)

iv also stoped feeding him from one of my boobs (the one that didnt have much milk to start with)

Already i can feel my boobs getting smaller but will my milk go or will i still be able to feed him morning and before bed! and how easy is it going to be for me to stop that of i ever want too?? Am i going about it the right way (if there even is a right way!!)

i don't know...but i would like to, cos i'm in exactly the same boat. i'm sure someone will have the answer. i feel very guilty, not sure why exactly...do you?

yeah i feel really bad for it but i also feel like its time to stop now i was tryin to get my mum to reasure me that i was doing the right thing yesterday i feel likes hes gunna hate me for takin his boobie away!

You'll still be able to BF as often as you want. As long as there's at least one feed a day you'll be fine.

abigail has started to bring that ONLY feed back up...is there a reason for this do you think? she only roots for boobie in times of distress, i'm sooooo upset about it:cry:(I wish i persevered for longer)

Once you're down to 1 or 2 feeds a say you can probably just stop whenever you like. It's hard cos you'll always wish you'd carried on longer but as long as you expect to feel that way you'll be fine. Once I got down to just 1 feed a day I found that he didn't want boogie anymore anyway, that's hard to come to terms with too!

I think your gonig about it the right way hun, if you do it gradually so you dont get engorged you'll be ok.

Im planning on doing the same thing at 3 months and droppnig down to two breastfeeds a day, one before bed and one in the morning, I cant imagine stopping completely, I never thought I'd be enjoying it so much!

But I do think by 3 months I'll be ready to go onto bottles in the daytime so Im able to do more things by myself, so swimming ect and its easier to leave her with other people then if need be. I think its gonna be hard though becuase she wont take milk form a bottle now, she did about 4 weeks ago but now she has decided that boobie is better!!

I now just BF Hannah for her moring feed and there is plenty milk there for her but I now now longer ever feel full like I used to - have not decided when I'll stop this feed though, might just let Hannah decide its time to stop.

I was wondering this too, Im going to gradually wean Seth off because he's getting teeth and I dont want to one day just stop bf.

xxx
