I saw a doctor last week and she wanted me to start on prenatal vitamins with DHA. She recommended Women's One A Day (she said they are usually very well tolerated, but I've never had any issues with any vitamins/supplements unless I take them w/o food) so when we went to Walmart to pick up the Prometrium and Clomid we looked at them... $15 for a 30 day supply! Now I know some of you ladies do spend that much or more on prenatals, but I was comparing the label to the normal multivitamin I usually take and it wasn't that different...

Anyway, I went into CVS yesterday because some of their vitamins were B1G1. I can get a bottle of 300 prenatals (no DHA) for like $18... and then I get another bottle free. I could then buy a DHA supplement which would be cheaper than buying the combo stuff. Have any of you ladies tried CVS Pharmacy brand prenatals? Did you have any problems?

P.S. I know that 600 vitamins is like almost a 2 year supply, but, I might not get pregnant right away, and I've heard that the doctors usually want you to take prenatals while you're breastfeeding, which I plan to do. So I don't think they would be wasted.

Hey there! I haven't tried the CVS prenatals but I have used the CVS brand of Expecta which is a DHA capsule for before, during and after pregnancy and don't have any issues with it.

I would be nervous taking a regular vitamin because it might not have enough Folic Acid in it which is very important for pregnancy and a regular vitamin usually has too much Vit A in it.

Well the prenatals she recommended had the same amount of vitamin A in them. They did have twice as much folic acid, but I've been taking a B50 complex as well which has folic acid as well so I'm not worried about getting enough of that...

I did go ahead and get the CVS prenatals. Took the first one today and I'm tolerating it ok. I saw the DHA supplement there but I was going to wait at least until next week and see if it goes on sale possibly... I will check Rite Aid and Walgreens sales as well as usually those pharmacies will have some brand of vitamin/supplement B1G1

I take the Walgreens brand of prenatals. I cannot see the point of spending tons of money on vitiams when I can get cheaper ones that are basically the same.

Yup that's about how I feel, though I will go ahead and get a DHA supplement to go along with it.
