CVS tomorrow

Good morning all,

I've been googling and scouring the Internet which is probably the worst thing you can do but after our 12 week scan yesterday and a large nuchal measurement of 6.5mm we have been booked in at UCH tomorrow for a CVS test. Obviously very anxious about the whole thing but feel its the best thing for us to be prepared early on if there are problems. We are very lucky and blessed to have already had a very healthy and beautiful baby who is now 2 and a half but I would love to hear from any other ladies who have been through or are going through a similar situation. We were really looking forward to telling everyone today our news and telling our daughter she is expecting a little brother or sister but just feel we need to put things on hold until the test is out the way and we have the results.

Hope your results give u happiness. I would really wanna hear more how was the cvs done and how is everything doing with u now.. Wishes u all the best!

Clairebear, I am curious to how your test went. My doctor is suggesting that I have it done due to my previous pregnancy ending in a miscarriage. I've been trying to do some research on it and see if it's something I am interested in. What did you think? Would you recommend it?

Clairebear, I am actually going through something very similar and I was told my baby has Fluid in his head and back of neck. Im very scared. How did the CVS test go... I am 13 weeks and it is too late for that I have to wait until I am 16 weeks for amnio test

Sorry Fijimom and Mdub19 for not responding sooner, I haven't been on here in a while!

CVS actually went really well and we were lucky for our results to have come back clear. It was uncomfortable but literally only took a few mins to do...the wait for the results is the worst part! We are unfortuantely not out of the woods yet as our 20wk anomaly scan didn't go too well so we have further scans over next couple of weeks. They think there could be a rare genetic problem that CVS can't pick up...or could be nothing at all. Bit in limbo at the moment!! I have just posted about this.
