Hi ladies :hi:

I'm not a long term TTC'er but may need assistance in conceiving.(I hope you don't mind me coming in) I'm going for Cycle Day 3 testing on Friday. I have very irregular and sometimes long cycles and always had them since I first got AF at 11 years of age. In the 20 years since, I haven't had a "normal" or regular period except for the time when I was on birth control. I also went through a period where I didn't have a period for 3 years. In the past my doctor has mentioned needing "assistance" in conceiving.

Who has gone for CD3 testing and what is done if the results come back abnormal?

Thanks!

Hey Chris

I had my CD3 tests done and my fertility consultant just explained them to me. She said it's the hormone levels that will tell you whether you are peri-menopausal and what the quality of your eggs should be like.

I got a level of 7 - she predicted the menopause won't hit me for about 20 years and i'm 33!

Not sure what they do depending on the reading - possibly hormones ??

Sorry can't be more help x

Hi,

I had the cycle day 3 and 21 tests done (which i assume you are having?) if so then they will compare the hormones:

FSH
Progesterone
Oestrogen

in both sets of bloods and then tell you the result.

I had these tests done to check to see if I was ovulating (which I dont).

I have now been referred to a fertility specialist where I gather my partner will have sperm analysis and then we will have further discussions with the specialist about our options.

Hope this is helpful

:)
