So my waters broke on the 16th August. I woke up feeling slightly damp and didn't realise that's what had happened until I started moving about. Got to the hospital at 8am and was checked over, by 9am I'd had my first shot of steroids and went to the ward. I had more steroids the Sunday night ready to be induced the following day.

Monday came and I had to wait around all day for a bed to come free on labour ward. As I was a VBAC they couldn't even give me the pessary until I was on labour ward. I got taken round and had that inserted at 5pm. Had a few twinges but that was it so OH went home at 9pm. I went to sleep at 11pm.

I woke up at 12:30am with a contraction so started timing them. Asked for some pain killers at 1:30am and was hooked up to the monitor at 3am as midwife didn't think they were real contractions and were due to the pessary. She checked how dilated I was at 4am (2-3cm) and gave my my first lot of antibiotics as I had GBS. By 6am I was in a lot of pain so I called OH and told him to come back and started on gas and air. OH didn't arrive until 7:30am and I was checked again at 8am when I was 6cm. I had a half dose of diamorphine at this point and another dose of antibiotics. Just before 9am the pressure was too much and I was told I was 10cm and could start pushing. I think she came out in around 10 pushes, I only pushed for 5 minutes or so.

She was born at 9:03am on the 18th August and weighed 5lb2oz.

We're still in hospital at the moment as she did develop an infection and has to have IV antibiotics for 7 days. She gets to stay on the ward with me and just gets wheeled to SCBU every 12 hours for her medicine so it's not too bad. Very much looking forward to going home as I'm missing my other babies lots!
