Hello ladys,

Since coming of the pill in August my period seems to have gotten worse..
It is irregular (obviously normal) but also mostly really dark brown.. with no real fresh red blood.. (im 22 btw)

The cramps seem to have gotten a lot worse too and i generally feel constipated ad bloat, painfull ovulation for about a week or more aswell..

My last period only lasted about 3 days and this one seems to be about 4 days (it's only blackish and dying down now)..

I cant really seem to find any info online but from what i have read it could be Endo..

Any of you lovely ladys here that have been diagnosed with Endo, does this sound similar to you? Ive got a appointment at the Gyno for a Colposcopy (had 2 CIN 1 smears) and i was wondering what i should ask for and what should eb done so i can rule this out or start treatment..

Thanks for any help guys, i really would appreciate it.. as we are TTC nr1

Do you get pieces of tissue and/or clots with it? Is the bleeding particularly heavy? Painful cramps could symbolize endo, but not necessarily. Sufferers of endo can also have pain in their luteal phase due to the tissue growing where it is not supposed to. I am not sure about the dark blood though - I usually can have dark blood at the beginning of my period, almost black. But this changes to red in about a day usually. Let me see if I can dig anything up on your symptoms.

I would say yes though, right off the bat from what you describe - it is possible.

There are many, many signs of Endo. Do you have problems during ovulation? Apparently this is a telltale one. I was diagnosed with Endo in July because I had the telltale symptoms:

Irregular periods
Heavy periods
Clots/piece of skin coming out along with AF
Severe cramping in the second half of cycle (this is due to hormones causing the Endo to grow like the womb lining grows - my cramping can start at 1dpo and be bad enough to require painkillers by 5dpo onwards)
Irregular bleeding (ie spotting before period, pink, creamy CM, etc)
Ovulation cramping is sometimes so bad can barely stand up/walk

Do you have any of these?

yes there are cloths, and i have cramps during Lutheal phase.., bleeding is not heavy, normal if light.. could be handled with mostly pads.. 3 /4 days..

first day blackish brown, second day brown very dark red.. next day the same but less today brown black again.. not even 2 tampons..

Funnily enough only severe cramps the first 2 days then nothing appart form headaches.. (look at my FF chart)

Looks like dark blood is a classic symptom:

https://www.docwelden.com/InformativeArticles/Endometriosis/tabid/66/Default.aspx
The abnormal menstruation may include irregular menstrual bleeding, heavy menstrual periods-especially those with dark brown or a black blood and/or dark brown or blackish vaginal discharge just prior to the onset of the regular menstrual period.

no spotting in DPO but heavy painful cramping during O, which continued of and on and weakened about a week later.. then i was 2 weeks late for period and got heavy pains which definitely required a painkiller the first 2 days and disappeared again..

I noticed i had the dark blood last period aswell, and i remember feeling quite painful, cant remember if it was as painful as this month though..

Well heavy period does not seem totally necessary to have endo, but seems very common. I liked this page: https://www.womenshealthcareforum.com/endometriosis.cfm

Was more informative than others I looked at.

That first non BNB link was good too. Sounds like you could have mild to moderate endo to me. But honey, a doctor should diagnosis. Be careful with the self-diagnosis, believe me it's gotten to me into trouble before. It's good however that you are exploring what it might be so that you can talk to your doc about it.

Ouch, yeah i also have VERY strong backaches when mens is about to come..
Hmppf im afraid ill have to get this checked at the Gyno as it might indeed be Endo then :(

sh*t

I knew this was coming, read my last post!!!!! Plus endo does not automatically equal infertility!!!

Thanks Vestirse,

Your a dear, i just got a bit skeptical about my mens being so dark for the whole duration and reading up on that i found some info but non real symptomatic ones..

I will not stress out to much but it sucks overall, it will be good (if it indeed is endo) that we have found out fairly soon.. :(

Ill update on the 12th of Dec i guess..

:hugs:

And no i wont automatically assume i have it ;) obviously there could be other reasons too and the girls here with Endo have been lucky too,

Whatever it is, it's bugging me and id rather want to know what it is all about , right ;)

Definitely let us know. Yes, a diagnosis of endo does suck, but I'd be glad to know what was wrong. However, let me stress that don't put yourself in the mindset that you have it until you are diagnosed!!! Doing that sucks even more, let me tell you!!!! For now it is just a possibility not a reality.

I have dark blood. But, I was told that with Endo you have heavy rather than light bleeding.

I have endo, and my bleeding is quite heavy and usually quite dark in color. Talk to your Dr. about your concerns, since you've only been off the pill since August, your cycles may just be adjusting to the changes in hormones. Good luck hun!
