My daughter is nearly 4 gets really blocked up at night so badly that she says she can't breathe though her nose. It's her nose that gets blocked up but no amount of blowing makes a difference.

We use olbus oil drops on a tissue and put it on her bedside table, But she wakes p crying most nights saying she cant breathe.

im takng her to the gp this afternoon as its been going on a while now.

anyone have any ideas what may be the reason - im thinking adenoids perhaps.

Hi,

You have described me as a kid. I have enlarged adinoids which were removed when I was 4.

My daughter appears to be the same and will be getting checked out when shes a little older.

Of course it could be something completely different but thought I'd mention :-)

No advise- but hope they get it figured out soon hun! I hate it when I have a cold and can't breathe through my nose- NO FUN... poor kiddo! :hugs:

One thing to try that might give her some relief - use a mentholated rub all over her feet, but particularly on the soles. Cover with a pair of warm socks.
I do this with my boys all the time and used it a lot during pregnancy. It is amazing how well it works to open the sinuses.

Have you tried a humidifier in her room at night? I know that really helps me when I'm congested and I think it helps my LO too.

Ide definately get her adnoids checked out. Im going thru the same thing with my seven year old.
