Decisions to make

Hi All

Looking for some advice. we have been TTC for nearly 3 years, it appears my husband has a low sperm count but it has improved, they put me on clomid as there was not alot of other options before IVF. I have been on it 3 cycles now and have 2 more cycles if i want them, however i have started speaking with IVF clinic and need to have scan and AMH blood test but cant get on with it until i am off clomid. My gut says not to take the other 2 cycles and get on to IVF. Also my husband is travelling so we are touch and go if we get to have a go this cycle, do i stay on clomid or come off it and give my body a rest and get started with IVF. I have just turned 37 thanks

As someone who just turned 38 and has the benefit of hindsight - I would say skip to IVF (and ICSI). I piddled around for with Clomid, Femara, and Menopur IUIs while I was 37, and in the end I have moved on to IVF cycle. And I am so worn out from all of the other that I don't even want to do it most days.

While I don't have the benefit of hindsight as tulip1975 does, I agree with her. I am a big advocate of going with your gut instincts, and if your gut tells you to skip to IVF, I think you should.

Hi, ive just done 9 cycles of Clomid and now moving on to ivf, wish I had done it sooner but chose to do 3 more Clomid cycles which was a waste of time
Have my appointment for ivf referral tomorrow though so will get there soon

Thank you all, ironicaly i came on Friday into Saturday and was really sick mega stomach pains and felt like i was going to be sick, may it was a bug but the pain starter right at the same time my period started. I could no way start taking the cloming yesterday as my stomach was too sensitive. I have defo hand enough of clomid now as i do think it lead to this situation, i never really get major pmt at all.

Appreicate your comments and I have booked my pre scan for tomorrow along with AMH blood test, here we go. Our consultant appointment is 2nd April, in the clinic we have choosen we have all pre tests and then consultantion appointment they talk through your specific treatment, rather than coming back.

Appointment went well yesterday, had to sign consent form to apply for funding, that takes about 6 week's when we have to go bk for more paperwork to sign and the ivf will start within 3 months!
Cant wait to get started, had a list of about 6 clinics to choose from and I was pleased the one I had been looking at was on there - complete fertility clinic in Southampton so I picked that one and my fs then said he works there one day a week so even better!
How did your scan go today?

How did your scan go today?

Wow not long really, did they tell you what to expect in terms of the process for you? My scan was good checking uterus and ovaries also had Amh blood test done that will check my egg reserve. I have a few other bloods and smear, plus husband will have sperm test then we go back for treatment plan 2nd April, we are likely to start end of April May depending on holiday etc. we are going private due to the nhs post code lottery. Most of the basic tests are bing covered by my gp.

Thats good news about the scan, they didnt really say anything else about the process but I think it goes quite quick once you get started
The nhs postcode lottery is a pain, I'm grateful to get a funded cycle but then why in other areas you get 3 ? My fs 1 in 3 ivf cycles are successful so should really be offered the 3 if needed, if not we will go private if this doesnt work, the other thing is even if they cant complete the treatment such as due to over stimulation they still count that as your funded go!
My next appointment is 31st march
