Deleted orginal after getting a few nasty pm's but after talking to his HV she said it's fine as we're not replacing formula and it's only every few days.

Its recommended it should be 6 months before anything is introduced. My son is seeing DR just now for feeding issues. Its been difficult & we aren't sure yet if its an intolerance or silent reflux. Anyway, i tried some porridge & pureed apple just this week. My son is almost 22 weeks tho. HV is coming out tomorrow to discuss this.

Personally 12 weeks seems very young, particularly if he has taken most of a pouch and not just having a wee taste. It is also suggested that b4 6 months it should just b pureed fruit/veg.

i know you said your not looking to be crucified, but i think you will be. i dont agree with no earlier than 6m but i do agree with no earlier than 17 weeks!! my LB is 4.5 month and have now started to wean due to reflux (drs advice) and him being very hungry, but 12 weeks? when your LO is fine and (WAS) happy with milk just seems strange to me, a baby doesnt need different tastes or textures, all they need is breast or formula milk..
i dont really know what advice your looking for, nor do i think i could help.. but 12 weeks is far too young, has you LO got full control over their head?

I don't know why you would do this. Please read the NHS guidance and get some advice from your health visitor. You are putting your baby at risk, sorry to sound dramatic but please get some advice.

12 weeks does seem very very young for purees... Breastmilk/formula is so much more nutritionally complete than any puree at this stage. I'm a little confused at to why you're doing it. To each their own but it is advised not to wean until 4 months at the very minimum.

Your lo shouldn't be getting solids at all. Not even every few days, not even tastes, its dangerous and not necessary! I'll add some info for you to look at.

I don't believe a HV would ever say that, it's dangerous for a baby, they are not developed enough.

You are replacing milk with food even a small amount and into a baby that isn't physically developed enough. Please read the link people have posted.

What's the reason you wish to introduce solids so young? Just interested, not judging.
