hunt around for an NHS dentist as they have standard pricings which aren't too bad. You pay per 'epsiode' of treatment however many sessions you need at the same problem
Most dentists offer 0% apr (for the first year or so) on loans for dental work.
My OH had so many problems with some rool canal work, now we go to an NHS&private dentist, get as much as we can done on the NHS and then get private work when we feel it's necessary.
My other half got out a £1000 loan to do his root canal and pays off £100 a month.
No, anybody can get work done on the NHS, but you still have to pay for NHS work unless you are on benefit/tax exemption certificate/under16/over 60 etc.
The fee for NHS work is much, much cheaper than the private cost. Like most things are about £30, bigger stuff (like root canal) is around £100-ish. (I'm trying to remember from a poster i saw months ago so I may be wrong by a few £10s).
I was lucky enough to get registered with an NHS practice, because I work full time I was expecting to have to go private but a local practice were taking on new patients it might be worth ringing round the local practices and asking? I haven't paid for my last 3 check ups due to the pregnancy and new baby exemption but a general check up and polish cost £21
Thats fab news. If you need more work doing the NHS is still alot. Hubby has got to pay £209 (the 3rd nhs treatment level) but we have put it on hold prob til next year.
If you need work with the NHS anything within the 3 months falls in one treatment plan I believe but after this you would need to pay again if something went wrong say month you need a filling and 4 months later something else needs doing.
