My Lo is 15 months old and has her two bottom teeth+ her two top ones. Her two side top teeth are now coming in. Every night before bedtime I bathe her, which is when I attempt to brush her teeth, but she really doesn't like it. I was told by her doctor that I should def be bruising her teeth everyday now, but I know I'm probably not even doing it enough to consider it brushing. I do it when she's sitting in her tub, I ask her to open wide and she does it but then quickly turns away and doesn't want to cooperate. How do you guys brush your LO's teeth? What is your regimen like? Do you guys use toothpaste? Are tooth wipes even any good? Also, Idk if this is a silly question but the fact that she's nursing for bedtime has me thinking…won't this milk rott in her teeth over night? Hmmmm….

with DS it's always helped if he could see in the mirror while he did it. OH would hold DS in one hand and brush his own teeth while DS had his tooth brush and then OH would take over from DS to finish off properly.

I think you're ok with nursing at night because the milk doesn't pool behind the teeth like it does with bottles. I'm not 100% sure with this though.

I never used to worry about the last breastfeed and her teeth.
My toddler brushes her own teeth now, and has done for as long as I can remember. A smear of children's toothpaste, and then she has to "make the brush sound". I take over and make sure she gets a proper brush a few times a week, but I feel confident in her own brushing. Could you try encouraging your LO to do the brushing?

I was never strict on it at that age. I just used to let her have a chew on the brush whilst I was brushing my teeth or whilst she was in the bath! Xx

Aww, it's so hard when they don't like having their teeth brushed! We battled with DD1 over tooth brushing for ages. It's so important to do it every day, though.

Don't worry about night time breastfeeds. Breastmilk does not harm teeth in the way other foods and fluids do dot various reasons. See this article: https://www.analyticalarmadillo.co.uk/2010/12/ask-armadillo-does-breastfeeding-cause.html?m=1
