Depression due to progesterone?

Hey there.

I recently had a chemical pregnancy. After I found out that my pregnancy hadn't survived I was really sad. I think that was normal.

However, lately I am feeling pretty depressed on a whim and it's really strange.

I used to take POP's (progesterone only pills) for BC because estrogen caused migraine for me. However, I stopped because they made me really depressed and emotional.

I am thinking maybe the increase in progesterone from pregnancy could be having lingering effects on my body? Has anyone else had this problem?

Now this has me so worried that if I get pregnant I will be unstable and emotional the whole time because I don't handle the hormone very well.

Thoughts, advice?? :sadangel:

:hugs: I'm sorry for your loss. You may just need some time to grieve your little one. It might also be adjusting hormones too, but that may not have any effect on furture pregnancies.

Thanks...you could be right.

It just feels exactly the same to me as when I was on POP's.

But maybe it's having a harder effect on me than I thought. I was pretty distraught, anxious, and depressed - I hated to be alone - for the first few days but then I started feeling much better.

Sigh...

I would still like to know if anyone else has had this issue, or experienced the same thing from POP's & progesterone.
