Anyone know the chances of getting a water birth and do the rooms have a bath. Also does anyone know what happens when you go in to give birth.

Wish they let people do a tour it would put my mind so much at ease.

Not sure about the water birth thing but I know they do have the facility. When I went in I was checked by a midwife and found to be 4cm so was admitted. I was shown to a delivery room (no bath) where I stayed until I gave birth 14 hours later! After I had Dylan they brought me tea and toast then I was shown to a bathroom to wash and get changed - there was a large bath in there. When I was all cleaned up they took me up to a ward at which point Dylan's Dad had to go home. I was really happy with the care I received, hope that's helpful!

I think there is only one delivery room with a bath, so it is pot luck if you get it. I don't think we have much choice thought really down here!

Good luck xx

According to our abtebatal class the pool hardly gets used so if you want it make sure you alert them to it when you call to say your coming in

With my son I really fancied a water birth but then when I was labouring at home I had a bath and really didn't like the sensation of being in water which was such a surprise! I also wanted to be very active in labour bur found when the time came I wanted to be as still as possible. Lol, let's see what happens this time! :D
