I had a CVS this morning due to a very high NT at my 12 week scan on Monday. Fluid is around the entire baby so they are expecting trisomy. we will get fish results back in two days. however, during the CVS, they found problems with the baby's head (a hole in the back and concerns about brain development) THey said even if CVS showed no chromosomal problems, we would be facing serious complications...I'm just in shock and feeling numb right now. the cvs was painful physically and emotionally for me and I cant even function at this point. HAs anyone else been through this? how were future pregnancies for you all!?

I have an amnio on Tuesday because my baby NT MEASURED 5mm only showed fluid in head but heart rate is not stable ....

I got the same news last week. My baby also has a brain defect in the back of its head. Have u been told what it is? Ive been told either an arachnoid cyst or dandy walker malformation.

they didn't tell me what it was yet... just that it will provide major complications....I'm losing all hope here and cannot stop crying...this will be my second loss in a row....

Ive been to appointment today and my babys brain looks normal now. Its a miricle. It was either a cyst that disappeared or just normal fetal development looking like a problem. Doc said fetuses have an amazing ability to heal & repair themselves. I hope this is also the case for your baby too.
However ive got other problems too so need cvs done on tues xxx

my fish results came back negative...they think it may be encephalocele...any familiarity with that?
