DH diagnosed with MFI...on my birthday.

I need to have a little vent. And I need to hear from others who are going through something similar or who have been there before.
DH has 0% morphology, low count (14 M/mL), and "ehh" motility (grade2 =38%). His first SA was actually much worse believe it or not.
Anyway, we were told that our chances of conceiving naturally were less than 1%. DH has an appt with a urologist next week, and refuses to take any vitamins or exercise (he's overweight) because he doesn't think it will help. I'm just devastated and feel completely helpless that we basically can't give our DS a sibling. I know I'm very lucky to have a DS and I'm not taking it for granted...I just didn't see this coming when we started our journey into parenthood and I feel like we're letting our son down.

The RE recommended 3 rounds of medicated IUI and said that would only bring our chances up to a whopping 10%! Anyone have success with IUI or is icsi/ivf the only route?

We were also diagnosed with MFI, with 2% abnormal morphology and FS gave us only a 1% chance to conceive naturally. We were TTC first for 12 months. We were absolutely devastated. Since low sperm results can be due to a fever or flu we were suggested to try another SA in 3 months time (grow a new batch of sperm) just in case. DH bless him, starting taking vitamins, eating healthy, getting fit, even went on doing acupuncture weekly and taking chinese herbs 2x a day(which were horrible for him). After 3 months of all this, all sperm parameters increased except morphology which stayed the same at 2%! So we went down ivf-icsi route, after 2 fresh cycles, we had our first bfp, and currently 30 weeks pregnant! Good luck on your journey, in hindsight we could of gone to ivf-icsi first, but we needed that extra time to see if dh could do everything possible to improve his sperm, but unfortunately for us we couldnt and the medically option was the only way forward for us.
