So my DH is going back for his second SA in a week. First one came back with "Poor Prognosis" because he had 4% morphology. His count was pretty good at 204 million and motility was good at 65% with 87% vitality. His first experience wasn't great though because he went to the wrong waiting room lmao, so the nurse had to tell him in front of the other people who were not there for anything fertility related to go elsewhere. Then he missed the cup when he did his sample so he had to scoop it all back in. Now hes having weird worries that he might know a nurse in the clinic or someone will see him.

He's mostly embarrased going for the folllow up with his family doctor. The last time, the doctor misread the sheet and thought the count per mL was the total count so his GP told him the 68 million was a really low sperm count even though that was just the per ml. He corrected him, but the doc just waved him off. His doc also said morph should be around 60%. Clearly, he doesn't know kruger and we know a lot more than him, but my DH tried explaining it all and the doc just thinks he is completely infertile which bugs my DH a lot.

Should he switch family doctors over the mix up or just leave it. After all, the doctor did give him a referral because he thought it was so bad.

Also now, one of his friends knocked up his girlfriend of 4 months so hes uber pissed at life right now... ughh. Trust me, sometimes I wish my fiancee would be a little less emotionally involved in this TTC struggle because his mood is way too tied to it and it is his obsession. Does anyone have any advice or statistics of SA's getting worse the second time? That is his prime concern. That things will be terrible the second time around. He takes 13 different supplements a day and stays out of hot tubs and is worried it will have no effect.

I wouldn't worry too much hun. The Krugar testing method is pretty strict so 4% really isn't so bad especially considering that he has such an amazing count over all. 4% of 200million is still more than average. His family doc doesn't know what he is on about.

I think it is kind of sweet that he cares so much. I think a lot of ladies would be thrilled to have a man that cared that much.

Good luck hun

I would love my OH to have your figures! my OH's count is appx 12mil and motility about 9 or 10% - not sure on morph but around the same as the other two. We are waiting for OH's 4th SA - this result will show whether vitamins have worked so i cant wait to see whether the vits have worked their magic!

My OH also has to "give a donation" as the FS puts it, at the hospital and he hates it but i find it quit amusing he he

Let us know how you get on - hope the results have improved for you x

4 % is actually ok as the other parameters are fine.

My DH has 1% morpholgy and 19% forward progressive motility, we have been told we have male factor, but thats because of the combiation of the motility and morphology.

My DH has an SA booked in next week, he went out and got drunk last weekend, its in a right mood and won't even talk to me about it, at least your DH has told you what he finds difficult.

Its such a horrible strain on peoples relatinships, i really feel for you, i'm in the same boat.

Hopefully the 2nd SA will come back better for both yours and my DH's..

I have knows women on this board and others get pregnant with lower morph than your DH.... I hope that gives you some comfort.. x

Thanks everyone for replying. Just wanted to clarify that I know 4% is ok so I don't want anyone thinking I'm looking for sympathy on his results, just wondering for advice dealing with his mood etc haha. Good luck to everyone!
