Hi all, new here I'm 31 and dh 35. I have been lurking a while and thought I should post. We first started ttc 6 years ago, became pg after 19 cycles but that unfortunately turned out to be ectopic.

Stopped for a couple of years and then started up again been trying over two years again now, finally managed to convince my dh to go to gp and he has just had his SA results, gp said doesn't look good for us, numbers are 20million, with 45% motility and only 5% morphology I'm not really sure what all this means but his sperm problems coupled with the fact I am a one-tuber the odds are against us. My gp has told us we can go for ICSI if 2nd SA to be done in 3 months shows no improvement. My dh has said we will have the two tries of ICSI and then that's it, he can't do it anymore. I feel devastated.

My question is, is there anyone out there in a similar situation to mine had any success? I'm desperate to get my BFP before the ICSI in case my dh just gives up if it doesn't work. I feel so sad.

Sorry for the moan, I'm really pleased to meet you all and glad I've got up the courage to post xxx

Aww I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Don't lose hope though, I've heard of women getting pregnant with worse SA results and female factors as well. Hang in there! Was 20 million the overall count or 20 million per ml? As for the morphology.. I've been doing lots of reading on this as well and from what I've read, a normal morphology under strict guidelines is now classified as 5% or more. There seems to be a lot of confusion as to which ranges to use for morph.. on my DH's SA range in 2009, greater than 15% was considered normal. It has since been decreased by WHO to 5%. Your DH's motility doesn't seem all that bad either. (sorry my DD insisted I put the smiley face in lol) :baby: and that one too... haha ANYWAY, best of luck! Don't give up, anything can happen! OH and I was also looking into getting Fertilaid for my DH.. I've read that it can help with increase and quality of sperm production!

These SA results are very confusing, my gp didn't explain too well, I am confused as to whether it was 20 million total or 40 as there was 2ml collected so hopefully was 20 million per ml!

I was looking into the morph a lot last night and I have to agree with you, I think they are very strict and picky so I do feel a whole lot better now. I already have him on Wellman conception, Vitamin C 1000mg, Flaxseed Oil, Royal Jelly and extra Arginine. I also read last night about a wonder vitamin called Pycnogenol, in some clinical trials the morph improved by almost 100% so I am definately going to try him on that, he will be rattling soon lol!!

Thanks for the smileys, this one's for your dd :flower:
