Did anyone did combined feeding for a long time?

Hi girls,


To cut story short I have been having problems with breastfeeding. Everything was fine but in a last week we have been struggling.

I still want to breastfeed for as long as possible and I am wondering did anybody succesfully mixed fed for a long time - 6 months+ ??

I am coming into terms that I might have to formula feed during the day and breastfeed in the night, evening and morning.
Did anybody do it?

I haven't done this myself, but a friend successfully combined for 5 months, and only stopped because she had to go back to work. She alternated feeds, and had no problems. She started from birth though as her 10lb whopper was ridiculously hungry.

Is your LO going through the 4 month growth spurt? It's a really big one which may be why you're having problems with supply, I think it takes your body about 5 days to catch up with what they're demanding.
