Hi all im 10 weeks preg and very interested in registering for a baby bullet. Im just wondering who all has tried making there own baby food and how the experience was and even what machine you used? Thanks in.advance for all who respond and congrats on your beautiful babies!!!

Probably not the best forum for this question but I made my own with the baby bullet. Was very handy. Pm me if you want more info. :)

I did! I used the Ninja and it was awesome. It is very time consuming but rewarding. :)

I dunno what a baby bullet is lol. But I just blitzed everything in a normal blender (didn't see the point in paying out for extra stuff). It's cheaper than buying jars or pouches - although we did also buy some occasionally for convenience/to let him try foods that I wouldn't cook -, better for them and really easy as you can freeze batches for up to 8 weeks.

You'll also probably read a lot about baby led weaning (BLW) on this forum where you go straight in with finger foods rather than puree. I'd say it's probably worth looking into things like that just incase you pay out for stuff to make puree and then decide not to do traditional weaning.
I definitely wouldn't recommend buying weaning stuff until your baby is here and you know what they're like because not everyone is given a choice on how to wean, some babies will refuse to be spoon fed and others will refuse to feed themselves.

i just used a normal hand blender. £5 in tesco. x

I just used a regular blender. Made a batch in advance and froze it. This is all she had at first, though we did introduce pouches (Ella's Kitchen I think) to give her a bit more variety as she got a bit older.

I don't know what baby bullet is... But I did most the time make my own baby food and blend it with a cheap hand blender. I tended to do a big baby food shop once a month brought loads of ingredients and made her dinners in batch and froze them Incase we were having a meal she didnt like or couldn't eat.

I did occasionally use jarred food like if we out for the day x

im also expecting my first and im planning on feeding 'real food' as i say, i was once taught in health and social that once food like baby foods/prepped food, has been packed, shipped to the shop, bought, taken home, cooked and eaten, theres no goodness in it anymore.
Ive been racking my brains as to what foods i should prepare to give LO even though its almost a year away when he will be eating (i have to feel prepared or i just feel useless and it will do my headin) i think, as far as i know, the only foods i cant give him that we eat is hot stuff, like a chilli (so take some out for baby when mild?) & curries (we have them pretty hot) i always thought me and my OH dont eat 'good' meals to be able to give LO any but come to think of it, we eat potato, pasta, beans and often have veggies in and eat meat most days. i suppose LO can eat mainly anything we do, i may buy jarred foods or those pouches once in a while when going out but i will just blitz our food up in our magic bullet for baby until i introduce foods as a solid, but who knows, this will more than likely change a few times in the space of a year

I know its silly im already thinking about this but im like you feel the need to plan and be prepared lol

im the same with everything i have like 3-4 month left but im stressing my self about how to make bottles, how often he will need feeding, when will he sleep, where will he sleep, will he need a dummy, what colour the nursery should be, me going back to work, what im going to feed LO etc. etc.
I feel like im not ready if i dont at least plan things, even though i know when a baby is involved plans usually dont work out as you planned them LOL i think its a mothers instinct, especially on our first :)

I made all our own baby food for our first (2nd on the way) and plan to do it again. My sister bought me a baby bullet and I have to say that cleaning it was wayyyy easier than cleaning the food processor that I had been using. It was easy to switch over to another food- just rinse and process something else. I also really like the little storage jars that came with it. I would make like 6 different fruits or veggies at a time then puree them all and pour into ice cube trays. Once they were hard I'd pop each kind into ziplock bags. Worked great for us. When he got bigger, I'd just puree less so foods were chunky still, eventually moving to more of a baby lead weaning approach

I wouldn,t bother investing in a bullet if you have a regular blender. I used a regular blender with my first and made all my own food, you know what your baby is being fed that way. Second baby I did baby led weaning which was fabulous and will be doing that again this time.
