Just curious, it's been three years for us with no luck at all and just curious how effective preseed is....

Effective at what? It's lube, and like all lube it kills some sperm. It's deciding whether dryness is a problem, as it doesn't help with conception in its own right. Quite the contrary.
I used it along with guinafennasin when I took clomid, when my dd was conceived, but purely as the clomid had a drying effect....

Wow, interesting results!!!

We only dtd at the right time on our first cycle. On our second cycle though, we used preseed, I ate pineapple and elevated hips/legs in the air.

ETA: From my understanding, preseed is not just lube like KY jelly. It is a sperm-friendly lube, and actually (theoretically) helps guide the sperm to the right place. https://www.preseed.com/How-Pre-Seed-Can-Help/What-is-Pre-Seed.aspx

Its a small price to pay to at least try. And with so many women having good results, it doesn't seem like there's much harm in it.

Best of luck OP!!! :flower:

If you look at the box it actually kills sperm, just to a lesser degree than conventional lubes. It's very cleverly marketed.

Yes! Just less than other lube. Look at the box. It also contains parabens.

Oh okay, I don't have preseed but that's funny cause there's no mention of it on their site? I bought one called balance activ (UK brand) which is sold in boots, doesn't say it kills sperm on that one x

Concieve plus and concieved first cycle. Could be coincidence, but I'd recommend it!

Wow thanks ladies, this is amazing results! Maybe I have a chance!

Do you have a source for that? My box does not state that it kills sperm. Also, you mentioned it has parabens, which are preservatives. How do they relate to the efficacy?

Liz we used it along with softcups last cycle and we didn't.. but I also haven't pinpointed O yet so that could be my problem.
This month I'm using mucinex along with OPKs preseed and the soft cups.

Parabens are linked to breast cancer and low sperm count sperm issues. Google that. Most cosmetics are paraben free now. It's hilarious they say it's a preservative ! Seriously google parabens.
The box I think may be different no but it used to have a before and after picture, with clearly less sperm in the second picture. I was trying to find the box online and it looks like it's been re branded.
As I have said I used it myself for dryness what my point is is that it's not going to aid with conception per se.

"Why does Pre-Seed have parabens in it?

Preservatives, such as methylparaben and propylparaben (in Pre-Seed Lubricant), keep products from growing bacteria. Other preservatives (Vitamin C, EDTA, etc.) can cause sperm damage. We chose to use methylparaben and propylparaben because they have very long histories of use and safety data and are fertility friendly.

The preservatives we use prevent bacteria growth without damaging sperm. Published reports found that these preservatives have no more impact on tissues than do food estrogens in soya and other foods (A review of the endocrine activity of parabens and implications for potential risks to human health. Crit Rev Toxicol. 2005).

Scientists and expert preservative consultants have reviewed all of the available preservatives approved for human use. In developing Pre-Seed our goal, of course, was to choose a preservative that was safe for sperm. Unfortunately, many preservatives damage sperm by their mechanism of action. In developing Pre-Seed, we were the first, and to our knowledge the only, studies ever done to determine the lowest dose of methylparaben and propylparaben preservatives we could use that would meet our goal of protecting against bacterial growth while preserving optimal sperm function and not impairing egg fertilization or embryo development.

The safety issues around parabens have been reviewed by a number of expert groups. Virtually all of them have concluded that methylparaben and propylparaben, when used in the amounts present in Pre-Seed, are safe.

The FDA believes that "at the present time there is no reason for consumers to be concerned about the use of cosmetics containing parabens. However, the agency will continue to evaluate new data in this area. If FDA determines that a health hazard exists, the agency will advise the industry and the public…"

There are not enough "parabens" in pre-seed to harm sperm, so where ever you got that info must be outdated.

Liz, pre-seed worked for us when we were ttc our dd so I hope it works for you too:)

This is my first month using it, im 3dpo so ill let you know, thanks for starting this thread it makes me hopeful.. ill update you on my results!!
