When I studied early child development (conception through age 6) I found out something interesting, that I forgot to share with you ladies. Apparently teenagers (under 19 I believe) are more likely to get pregnant with a boy then with a girl. Usually its like a 50/50 chance, and its not that dramatic like its 25 girl, 75 boy but apparently its a quite noticeable difference. Interesting, right?

I'd tell you the science behind it, but I dont remember. :haha:

omg thats wierd hehe, i never learnt about this and i studied childcare lol so hmmmm interesting!

woow! that's really interesting.. thanks for sharing!

That is really interesting! I'm totally going to look that up to see why lol.

really? i studied childcare, and im now a qualified nursery nurse and never heard this.
interesting! lol xx

I heard this but I thought it was the other way round? Like were more likely to have girls...

Thanks for sharing though, anyone know why it is?

xx

sorry im slow but does that mean under 19 yrs old and we are more likely to be having boys with the odds 75 against 25 for girls?:S x

I was just giving an example on how its most likely /not/ 75/25. I dont think its a strong difference like that. & I dont know! Maybe I got it wrong but im almost 100% sure that it was boy.

I took child growth and development classes in high school as well as a year in college and I learned it was just boys in general, not because of the age of the parents, but something about the mobility of the boy sperm, and it was a small amount, 51% chance of a boy and 49% of a girl.

i did childcare too and thought it was a girl? lol either way its weird and interesting x

Really? Only 1% differnce? I know male sperm is faster but I dont think thats what they meant. She talked very in depth about how it had to do with age. Could be something simple like 1% though. That'd be funny and quite pointless to teach haha

I agree, I studied this in science and its around 1% but it moves every year by a few 0.0%'s lol male sperm is faster than female although female sperm is more robust/lasts longer.

Lol! I read that so wrongly! I took it to mean...girls are more likely to get pregnant with a boy..(ie are more likely to get pregnant having sex with a boy than a girl) was sitting here thinking well of course?? How else could she? Haha..oh god im stupid

^^ I thought that at first too and then re-read it..haha.
