Did you learn to love??

When we found out we were having our first girl. Her name was picked pretty much immediately, we knew even before we concieved that if we had a Girl she would be called Caitlyn. We both loved the name.

This time round (and last time) we cannot find a single name that we love, and can stick to. I can see the arguments in the delivery room

For those of you in the situation did you learn to love another name or did you just pick one you 'liked' and got used to it?

With tegan we had a short list of about 5 names we liked but nothing we LOVED. However, as soon as she was born we both looked at her and said lets call her tegan(this was on our shortlist). And i do love tegan now and it as perfect for her. Am hoping something similar happens this time as i exhausted my naming abilities last time, i lost count of the number of lists and times i changed my mind so dont know what we'll do this time if a name doesnt just stand out when she's born!!!!x

I have tons of names the i 'like' but none that seem to suit me... iykwim... i couldnt imagine myself saying them on a regular basis haha

I see what you're saying.. I was tied when deciding Mia's name.. whether we were going to have Millie and we had Lily as well..

But i have grown to love the name Mia.xx

With my first his name was Zak from the min we found out he was a he But with Charlie! oh that was hard! It took ages to pick a name he was Taylor until 3 weeks before we had him! I heard the name Charlie and FELL in love. I am glad i changed my mine because he most definatly is a CHEEKY charlie! THIS time im struggling bad! We have picked Harry but i am not in love with it. But oh is so il learn to lvoe it i like it but it is growing xx

Yer we are the same. Amelia was Amelia before we even found out she was a girl. This time round we were set on Alexander UNTILL we found out he was a boy and then the doubts started...
We LOVED Dexter but after every single person we know telling us they hated it and how awful it is we have now gone back to stage 1! :sigh:

I've been fortunate in finding names that just 'click' in my mind and stay there if that makes any sense. Ethan has been a boy name that I read in a book when I was a teenager and have stuck with it every since. And more recently I'm in love with the name Ava. It'd be hard when you can't decide because you don't want to regret it later. I hope something clicks for you. I know I'm no help. I always look at credits at the end of movies and shows as well for ideas!

We only had a boys name picked from the beginning, and I had lists of girls names but none I loved... then when we found out she was a girl, she was instantly Jessica, it was the only name we both loved and could agree on! xXx

With my Tegan, her name was actually Maddison if she was a girl and Ewan for a boy... . And then when we found out she actually was a girl, we changed our minds in the space of an hour and she was Tegan Since I had so many ultrasounds etc when I was pregnant, by the time she was born we and some medical professionals had been calling her Tegan for months

I only had one name I loved, Isla, but OH hated it so that was out, We both 'liked' Molly so she was that for a while. She became Chloe when I was about 32 weeks as OH loved it and I could live with it!

Of course, I couldn't imagine her as anything else now!!

I was originally gonna call him Jude, that was the name i had picked out from the minute i found out. I changed it at about 20 weeks to Ralf (God knows why) and then kept swapping and changing, at one point i was set on Dexter and then it was gonna be Audie until he was born and i realised he was a Jude

We went into hospital with a bump to be named Hannah or Olivia and came out with a baby called Sophie!!
All decided during labour, with a final choice when we looked at her for the first time!

And yes i do think names grow on you, but also gut feelings should not be ignored, my dh wanted Wilf for a boy i said no so we choose ben, but on reflection he would make an excelent Wilf!!

Im not even pregnant yet and i have my first 2 sons names picked out (thats if i even have sons or a son lol 1st son will be Leo Matthew Simon Redgate! 2nd son will be Cole Wayne Redgate
and for girls i have a list as long as my arm but none that i absolutely love... heres a few lol i dont want to bore you girls to much hehe

Good question. We've had Max picked for a boy for about 2 years, but we're still considering girls names. If we agree on the name, it doesn't go with the surname, and most annoying of all, if I finally find a name my husband likes, we get kinda settled on it, only for me to go off it a few days later. 6 weeks until I have to make a decision

We had decided on Stephen James for a boy from the start, but we had a few girls names picked. We liked Amelie and Sophia. Maybe next time as we are cooking a boy at the mo!!
