Did you name your baby before they were born?

I'm not pregnant yet, but hubby and I already have our names picked!

i knew even before i knew she was a girl that if she was a girl she would be luisa

wen we found out at 20 weeks that she was indeed a girl we decided that her name would be luisa elizabeth nicole.. but then wen my grandmother died wen i was 32 weeks we decided we would change it to luisa nicole pierina (pierina being my grandmothers name)

close family knew she was going to be called luisa but only our parents knew all the names..

as far as using the name.. wen we had our 4d ultra sound at 27 weeks i put pics on facebook and they were labled baby kell (oh surname)
but wen people talked about bump she was always baby luisa or luisa bump lol

its one thing im really glad i did as last christmas my grandmother gave me her present for luisa (some family jewlery) and on the gift tag she wrote to my darling great granddaughter luisa i will always love you love your great grandma(but in italian) she gave it to me before she was born as she was termilly ill and was scared she wouldnt live to see her born- which she didnt.. im so pleased she got to see her great grandaughter on the 4d scan and knew her name and that i have something for luisa wen she grows up..

sorry ive rambled and made myself cry!

xx

:hugs:You've made me cry reading your story of your daughters name . You sound like you loved your nan a lot, and like you say, its beautiful that she got to see your daughter on the scan. I want to name this baby after both my nans -Madeleine May, one of which is no longer with us , your story has made me all the more determined to get my way :winkwink:.

thank you xxx

i do miss her so so much.. i still cant believe she isnt here to see her great grandaughter grwo up

i really am glad i changed her name and so is oh, although it was his idea intially anyway so he was behind me from the start..

hope you get your way xxx

Poor maddilynne didn't have a name till 24hours old!! before i was pregnant she was caitlyn, then from the start of my pregnancy, she was always our leech! sounds awful but it was meant in the nicest way, as she was 'leeching' off me! and sometimes i referred to her as her boys names as i did kinda think she was a boy! then we found out she was a girl, and she went back to leech :dohh: when i saw her in 4d i thought 'maddilynne' but then then, we had our 3 girls choices (caitlyn, maddilynne and regan) we always knew she would be middle name hope.

so when she was born in theatre i said, regan hope - but i just didn't think it suited her :dohh: the next day the ear testing lady came round and i looked at james and said 'maddilynne' and we spelt it that way, i'm glad, she is def. a maddilynne hope, not regan! next time, i hope we are more decisive on a girls names

I didnt want to call him Joshua, I wanted Caleb. We argued about it constantly so I gave in when he was 2 days old lol

We had a name from when we were dating  the name was only for a girl and not a boy so were chuffed to find out we were having a girl cause it was difficult think of a boys name

I call my little one Lilly =)
Hopefully i wont change my mind when she arrives xx

I had a list of names i liked, but never picked or named amber until she was few hours old.
