Hi everyone! This is my first post in 2nd tri- not quite there yet as I'm 13+5 but i thought i'd be better off asking this here.

For the last two days I have had real difficulty urinating. Sorry if TMI- I am able to go, but with great effort and only a little comes out at a time.

I have never had a UTI before and dont think this is one as I have no pain or anything like that, but I do have a retroverted uterus.

Has anyone experienced this around this time? I called the midwife and told her i was extremely concerned about an incarcerated uterus and she laughed at me she had never heard of it which isnt exactly comforting!!!!

Anyone had any experience with this i would greatly appreciate replies as Im driving myself mad with worry!

thank you all in advance xx

Yes. I have this issue sometimes.

Sometimes I'll go 4 times in 15 minutes to completely empty my bladder. I think it's normal.

I know this isn't a truly academic source, it it has helped me:

I could be a UTI issue though, so I'd still ask my midwife/doctor to check my urine for bacteria, especially if you're really worried. HTH.

Yes I feel very desperate to go then I have to try really hard to get very little out. I was fully expecting the midwife today to say I had a urine infection but it came back clear. I think it's just all the extra pressure x

phew! glad to see that i'm not alone. although i'm sorry you're experiencing it too it really is quite annoying!

do you both have a retroverted uterus too? did it start for you at around 13 weeks?

thanks so much for your replies xx

I don't have a retroverted uterus and mine started around 15-16 weeks.

I dont have that either and yes it started around then xx

I've been having this problem for a little while now and its so annoying!! I feel i have to go then i have to focus and concentrate so hard to actually go

I have the opposite issue (going on myself sorry if TMI).
Regardless I wanted to send some hugs to you ladies as this sounds like a terrible issue.:hugs:
Don't you hate when this doctors/midwives take their knowledge to make us sound dumb? I don't think they do it on purpose at all, but still hurts and they are wrong sometimes. :haha:
I agree with PP though even though there's no pain to be sure I would tell the doctor/midwife that you would feel better if you had your urine checked to be sure. Good luck and I hope you situation eases! :flower:

I experienced this in my previous pregnancy too! My MW said that the tube that carries the urine from the bladder out is shaped like a spaghetti noodle. As your baby and uterus gets bigger and heavier, it can start to put pressure on that tube, kind of smashing it flat in a way. I find that leaning forward and/or "lifting up" my belly while peeing helps it all come out much easier. ;)

thanks for sharing ladies! i am feeling a lot better today and peeing almost normally again haha! so i decided not to bother with going to the doctors. i guess my uterus was just squashing my bladder or urethra in a funny way then like you say!

i tend to get anxious and p***ed off with drs and midwives telling me everything is fine and dont worry as last year i was told this again and again even after getting checked out by a paramedic only to be rushed to hospital 2 hours later with a ruptured tube from an ectopic! had internal bleeding for 12 hours and almost died but no one was taking me seriously!

i am so thankful for this forum i would be going crazy during this pregnancy if it wasnt for all you lovely ladies sharing your experiences :hugs:

This is me! I am not alone!?!!! It was really bad last night and I was scared I had some sort of uterine infection. I am going to mention this to the doctor to make sure I don't have a uti or any other sort of infection.

I hope it gets better for all of us!!!
