I was wondering if there are any BnBers who are Avon reps or sales leaders?

Thought it might be useful to bash around some ideas and tips!

Me first... who get's annoyed by customers throwing out your cats? I always put in a slip saying "If you don't want to receive a book in future, tick this box, and leave it all outside in the bag" then I cross them off my list... then when I go back it's "Don't want it"... couldn't you have just left it outside? :hissy:

hi hun i did avon for 6months last year never again the worst was people not having money for their order although they know your coming then they ask you to come back on a different day and they dont answer the door or say ive changed my mind :hissy: i gave it up because to many people were messing me around it wasnt worth my while, only bonus is my friends mum bought all my left over products so i did eventually make my money back :)

i did avon for 2 months and on the second month i got given extra books by my sales rep i then got a letter charginf me 32.00 for 10 books buts thats a 7.50 admin charge too. 2 days after i put the books out i got a phone call from a woman who was screaming at me calling me loads of names under the sun saying id stolen her streets, ( she'd been given my streets by mistake the week before) and wouldnt listen id had my streets for 2 months, she then started claiming she was taking the orders from me, i called my rep and got her reported and when i went to collect my books, she had gone round the houses and taken them all and their orders...bitch...i still get phone calls from her a month on!

nutter!! Absolute nutter, I'm getting sick of the brochure theives! The bloody swines!

I did it for a couple of months - never bloody again!!!!

Either they lie when they say you make money or the people round here are tight arses. Amie-leigh I always got people saying can you come back tomorrow, or i've changed my mind. Did my bloody nut in!!!!

Oh great LOL One of the children at nurserys mums asked me yesterday if I'd be a rep for her. She is a sales leader. So I said yeah. I guess the good thing is it's family & friends, so they wouldn't let me down I don't think!

Do you have to pay for brochures then? x

Everytime I have gone back for orders/books they say that they 'would have ordered if they knew i was definitly going back' :dohh:

Think that's because a lot of people start up, do it for one or two campaigns and then quit... it's a bit of a bugger though.

Lost tonnes of brochures to the bin this campaign, so I went around my territory tonight (all 91 houses lol) and put a leaflet through the door saying who I am, what I do (parties and the brochures) and if they're interested to ring me, or email me... one woman followed me down the street for a brochure which is great :D

She'll probably not buy anything though lol!

I had an awful time with Avon, did one campaign and that was it, never again! The area manager type woman was a total nightmare. I started it, and then was offered a job in Bristol (I was in Falkirk, Scotland at that point!) so I was trying to contact her to say "I can't do this anymore, sorry, I'm moving." Could I get hold of her? No! Then I get taken into hospital (long story), so it really falls off my radar.

I get a snotty phone call from her saying that she doesn't have my order. I'm like "Yes, I know, here's why... I couldn't reach you at any of the numbers you gave me." I got some crappy excuse which I can't even remember now. Anyway, she's then like "OK no bother, that's fine, thanks very much, good luck in Bristol, bye now."

A few weeks later I get a letter from the Avon office saying that I owed them £30 odd quid for an outstanding order (or something like that). I phone them up saying "eh, what, I didn't take any orders!" and they work out that the manager woman placed the order herself, against my name, to make up her target figure!! But the nasty woman on the end of the phone says that it's still up to me to pay that £30!!! I was absolutely fuming, ended up bursting into tears of pure rage on the phone, and demanding to speak to someone higher up. That "wasn't possible" but she gave me an address to write to.

So I wrote a stinking letter, saying how disgusted I was at everything. About a week later I got a phone call from a lovely lady, apologising profusely, saying that the amount had been paid, and that she was so sorry about the hassle, that it wasn't how Avon like to do business.

Erf, that became a long story  The upshot is - I'd never do it again! Saying that, my best friend's Mum & sisters have been doing Avon for as long as I can remember, and they get on fine with it. I think if you stick to family and friends you'll probably have much more luck than if you go round houses :)

the only way i ever made money from avon was at xmas. the delivery was always left in garage as nobody was home during day. i had an order total of £150 and it didnt arrive. phoned them up and they sent it few days later. the driver also left the original delivery at same time, so i had 2 of everything. called them to explain and they told me to send it back. they refunded me the full lot of what i sent back! i soon quit afterwards as throughout the year i always struggled to get minimum orders in my area and never earnt much
