Dishwasher tablet for stripping nappies

I read recently that if you wash your nappies with a dishwasher tablet it makes a great job of stripping. I haven't tried it yet, but wondered if anyone has tried it. If so did it work well? Might try it. I use Ecover DW tablets, so they should be more gentle than most. I meant to do a strip before we went away over half term, but forgot, so could do with doing a good spring clean of them!
