I've been looking it up, I believe the confusion is that that rule is for carers allowance. I'm sure lower or middle rate is disability element whereas high rate is severe disability element

I have no idea how much each would be however and I'm not sure if it's reliant on your own personal circumstances either.

yeah you have to have middle rate care or high to claim carers allowance... and yes i believe your right they add disabled part on for lower and severe for higher

We get high and I think the extra tax element is about 90per week?

they said to me i probably do qualify for a bit more for him being on low rate care but have to wait 4 weeks so will see xx
