Dna tests

Where is the best place to go for a DNA .. i dont want to do a home one as iv heard some are scams and fake but im thinking it will be so much money to do it privatly but it needs doing .. im not going through CSA either because i dont understand it i dont want to go through them for him to have contact if he is the dad.. weve said we would sort it out our selfs if he is which makes it alot easier.. But if anyone knows can you tell me how csa works (i know about the actual test i just want to know if you can just have the DNA done or you have to do it all)

I just dont want the hassle of court cause im moving house and its so stressful i just want to do the DNA and get it out the way really

any help will be good!

If you filed a claim with CSA and he denied he is the parent, then they would have to do a DNA test. They can't make him see LO, they just sort out the money side of things. But after you get the results back I guess you could cancel your claim I'm not quite sure. But private would cost a bomb!!

I just dont know who to contact about it cause we want to do a dna because basically i dont know who mason's dad is its between 2 of my ex's and 1 has basically disappeared to end of earth since i was 16 weeks pregnant and the other is still around and he wants to get it sorted he dont know if hes the dad obviously so we wana get a dna to sort it all out but we dont want to go to court or to sort money out because we can sort the money out between us without needing a solictor etc ..

I just dont know if i ring CSA they will just do a dna test and obviously we will pay for it or you cant just have a dna test done :\ just abit stuck im all new to this

Hi hun, I had this problem with FOB too. I were reffered to a website which has accurate DNA tests. If you would like the site let me know, they are the kind of tests the court use but you do it in the privacy of your own home with a swab from babys mouth and the fathers, you pay for the timing of your results i think it was 50 for 3-5days and the next day it was 80 something xx

Who is paying for the DNA test Becy? Sorry if thats a personal question. I'm just asking because from what I've seen Mason reeeeeally looks like the guy thats still around. Would it not be a waste of money? I can understand why he'd want it 100% but don't you be paying for it, not all of it anyway!

Were going halfs cause its the only fair way really cause every1 says he looks like jay whos still around i just dont know id say hes not his but ill be wrong :\ it probs will be a waste of money but i think we both just wana know 100% that hes the dad but even if he is .. he wont be going on the birth certificate cause he doesnt have a copy id have to go with to let him be on it and i dont want him on it tbh were sorting money and contact out ourselves if hes his hes agreed on having him once a week and paying for whatever he can afford to (which will be barely anything) im being selfish but hes not having him overnight till hes over 1 and depending on how he behaves at that age.. just feel im guna miss him even just for half of a day :\ will be nice to have a break but just know soon as hes not with me ill be thinking what hes doing and if hes okay and im sick to death of his mum, this is the next thing im thinking a week day to have him cause i go see my mum on weekends with mason cause she lives quite far away now.. but cause his mum works week days shell say its not fair cause she wants to see him and she can balls cause end day its jay not her who should be mostly in his life :\

hi i did one with a website called DNA bioscience its the best one as they check their results twice just to make sure they have got it right and they are court approved.

the test cost £159 or £411 for a court approved one but you only need one of these if your taking FOB to court or the CSA

i personaly wouldnt get the CSA involved unless hes being funny about taking the test as it takes forever and you wont get much money from them.

if you want to ask any questions just PM me.

oh and never go on what the baby looks like that can lead to a big misstake i had to do 3 DNA tests on josh yet i believed he looked so much like one of the other guys yet it came out negative now he has changed and looks the double of his dad x

I think thats the one iv got at home now im positive.. it costs £159 and me and my ex was going half's but hes now being abit of a twat about it all and hes not getting back in touch with me said last he hasnt got the money yet but i said it needs to be done asap cause im moving house start augest and theres well to much stress going on with that :\ .. everyone just says he looks double of my ex and im starting to think itll be a waste of money to have a dna but its the best way to get the answer if hes not his dad then he hasnt got a dad cause the other guy went when i was 16wk preg and got a new gf :\ .. iv said to him theres no point paying for the court thing cause we can sort that out between us and the money we get on good enough its just his mum pressuring him and then the silence i get for months then a outburst of trouble :\

We used this company as well - they are authorised and court approved (even if you don't pay for the Court Approved one, the tests are exactly the same - you are just paying extra for the legal paperwork).
