Has anyone had too do this too prove too the childs father they ARE the dad? xx

Yes x

ETA but only to cause trouble as he had no reason whatsoever to think lo isn't his and I'd never told him otherwise, he just did it for dramatics and it cost him £200! I felt very degraded being asked by him to do it and hated having to prove myself when I knew the results already.

I had to have the dna done to prove my sons father was his father. But not because he/i had any doubts. He died before my lo was born, so I had to prove he was the father for legal reasons. Do you need help with anything?xx

i have had this done for my daughter and her father ..what advice are u looking for? x

so sorry too hear that sophie!

my babys father hasnt had anything to do with me or bump since i was about 4 month, he decided wanted nothin too do with baby because he wasnt gettin me and baby, so turned round and said it wasnt his and too bugger off basically, so now he is still doubtin me and has got a lot off people talkin and whisperin behind my back , i want too get dna done once lo is boen in 2 weeks , just too prove too him and all the other doubters that i was right all along as i know i am , want too shove it under his face and say told u so! I hate fact i feel need too do this but its the only way as he is always going too deny it and i am always going too get that name if u know what i mean, it wont make a difference as too him not havin anything too do with bairn, i just want too clear my name so too speak, just hav no idea how too go about it and costs etc? xx

Not sure of the rules in Scotland. Do you have the CSA or an equivilent?

For me fob never asked for one and I've never claimed a penny. If he asked me now as lo is 10 months old he can fuck right off!!

lol well said anna, yeh, got CSA , but i dont really want too get them involved, i just want too prove too the twat he is the dad then ill walk away with my son, and he will be elft feelin like a idiot and realisin wat hes done xx

Well you can order kits from the internet. They are costly about £150 I think and cannot be used in court. But they are accurate, they are just called peace of mind tests.

the other way is to wait til bubba is born then make a claim to CSA. If fob denies he is the dad then CSA order a test. If he is the dad he has to pay for the test which is loads more and has to pay maintence.

I guess they are your options xx

hmm, think id better off gettin the 1 off internet so then it cant be used in court, if i go through csa then it will give him rights xx

If he is wanting anything to do with baby, then will he even do the DNA test?? He needs to consent to it, fill in the forms etc, will he do that?

hmm im not sure about that to be honest, he was up for it in th beginning, but then obviously lots changed since, so im not even sure if he will, cant i just go snip his hair or something/ lol xx

Hey hun, i dont think that the CSA gives him rights, just that he has to pay. For rights he has to be on the birth certificate or go through the courts for access :) xx

I have not.. but I hope I never have too.. sorry your going through this!!

You couldn't do a DNA test without his consent, you both have to fill in a form and sign a declaration of consent before it can even be processed.

Oh I never knew this! I was only saying the other day how I reckon FOB has snipped a bit of hair whilst I've been out the room because I had accusations of sleeping about thrown at me. Now I know he obviously hasn't!

Yep it's a criminal offence to use any bodily bits (ie hair, saliva etc) for the purpose of a DNA test without that persons consent.

hmm see i never knew that em, i thought if i went too csa then it would legally give him rights, i am going through a major battle with my daughters father, as he took her for a weekend and refused too giv back and now i dont see her at all, so its a legal battle going on :( :( dont want too go through all this again, so therefor i dont want him havin ANY rights xx

Aww bless you that's rubbish! No CSA and access are completely different issues, I was worried about that. Just don't put him on the birth certificate as that gives him the parental rights :) xx

WSS^^

If he really wanted to he could go and legally get put on the BC but tbh it's a long winded job from what I've been told. Then if a miracle happened and you suddenly decided you did want him on there it can always be done at a later date. As my HV said to me, it's easier to add them on than take them off.

im from scotland done the DNA through csa.. just call them up say uwant to put a claim in and tell them father will probs request a dna..they will contact him..if he does not reply the assume he is father and take maintenence without his say..if he requests dna he will be offered the test ..the test is done and proven he is the dad he will automatically pay maintenence backdated to ur claim date..and he will have a monthly payment back to the dna place (cellmark) to pay for test! why should u pay for the test its him thts denying the child!! hope it all works out for u xxx
