Do we boil the water forever?

I son is 17 months now and i stopped sterilising around 8 months, hes been having tap water since around 6-7 months. Its never done him any harm, he loves his water

I think i will sterilise bottles untill 12 months, but i admit i don't sterilise his bowls and spoons-just wash in hot soapy water.

Not sure about the drinking water-obviously for formula it should be pre boiled but im not sure for drinking ie in a cup or in squash?

I stopped boiling the water when max was 6 months but I think I will start doing ti again as he seems to have runny poos with our tap water

I read somewhere that you can stop boiling the water after 4 months, provided that you know that your water is safe. They still recommend it for people who have well water, but for those who are on the municpal water system it's supposed to be okay.

Not sure how well I buy into it though.

With my first 2 children I stopped sterilizing at 9/10 months when they started crawling as they are then having their hands all over the floors etc, I also stopped giving boiled water at this age and formula, used to give full fat cows milk from about 10 months and Im sure I will do the same with Jayden as long as hes ok with it

I boil the water for her bottle, but have stopped sterilising religously at about 6 months.... shes also had tap water since 6 months and she is fine!!

I still sterilise all my bottles, but then its because I don't wash them straight away. Sometimes they will sit in the warm sun for a few hours. Milk goes off and can then be very harmful so I rather make sure they are clean and sterlised.

As for water, most of the time I still boil it. It is so little effort to do it that I just do. His sippy cup though sometimes gets tap water and he is fine with that.

Never realized I was supposed to boil the water. I followed the directions on the can and the word boil was nowhere. Regular bottles I would probably still be sterilizing. I don't see a point to sterilizing the drop-ins liners - they're only used for one feed. I give them a quick rinse and that's it.

We still steralise and boil the water for Hannah's bottles. Not sure when we'll stop steralising the bottles but will start moving over to tap water in a few weeks when she turns 1
