Do workmen make you uncomfortable?

Arrgh I never could stand workmen when I'm in alone. I have someone coming to do the washing machine tomorrow, boiler thursday and someone came for the gutters last week. I do my best to make sure someone else is in .. The gutter guy asked me for my number.. He was probably 30 ish.. And I had my baby in my arms! Ugh, I think its the thought of a guy being in my home that I dont know and trust x

main reason my hubby wont be a domestic plumber is the akwardness of people in there own home. (he a industrial plumber)

some of his friends who are call out plumbers have some right stories to tell, from women coming on to them, ppl walking round not wearing anything, ppl asking them to watch there kids whilst they go to the shops, to some one using the loo whilst he was fixing the shower in the same room!!

Doesnt bother me really but my mum had an awful experience years ago.she had two men round to fix the boiler and.she was alone with me and my sister and she stayed downstairs with us while they worked upstairs. ANYway after they had left she went ypstairs to out washing away and discovered theyd gone through her underwear drawer!! So she freak out at having workmen in now.

I am uncomfortable with an stranger, man or woman in my house.
Although i do put on my people face.

my oh is a self employed work man so if anyone comes to do work here i kind of know them/of them... but a randomer?? i wouldnt like it

:haha: my oh came home one day after doing a job for a married asian woman and told me she went in the room to him asking him about his sex life and then went on to tell him her husband dosent please her and that she could find him lots more plastering to do if he wanted :winkwink:

They dont bother me though they probably think im rude but i just pretend they arent there unless they ask me something. My mum knows most workmen down here though as she works in the main building suppliers so i only have people she knows are good. She does shout at me for not offering coffee or anything though but i dont drink hot drinks so i dont make them either unless forced by family members lol x

:haha: i remember when i was a 'stroppy teenager' and still lived at home at the age of like 15. my mum had work men doing the electrics. and my mum would go out to work and id be at home. my mum explained to them to help their selfs with the kettle as they would be waiting for ever if they were waiting for me to make them one.

in the end i had them making me teas and coffees :haha:

Not really........then again I'm married to one

The way I see it they're just doing their job

They don't really make me uncomfortable. Had one round today to fix the radiator in the bedroom and I just stood there watching while he explained what he was doing, was kind of interesting (well at least what I could understand of it)

i dont think its not normal - its how you are as a person - I dont feel uncomfortable around them - i talk to them make them tea and if they are good looking have a good old flirt and carry on doing what i have to do -i never would leave someone alone in my house unless i had too.

People in general make me uncomfortable which could have something to do with my workmen issue :haha:

I can't really talk to men full stop. Especially not attractive ones. When I was slimmer I had no problem so I guess for me its a self confidence issue. But Yeh workmen make me feel uncomfortable.

X

Actually after writing that I've realised I actually can't talk to women either. Hmm
