I'm seriously confused who wakes a sleeping baby to change a wet nappy thats not leaking... You have to get them out of their warm bedding, undress them, expose them to the cold when they were snuggly and comfy for the sake of being able to say 'I never leave my baby in a nappy thats been wet for all of 5 minutes'
I believe my LO's reaction to being awakened in the middle of the night over a wet diaper would look something like this:

LO gets a disposable overnight and a thin layer of sudocrem on her bum before bed as a precaution. I will then change her when we wake in the morning.
Why do I get the feeling this thread was started as a holier than thou statement? "I wake up and change and potty" etc. Was this necessary?

It was started because I thought it was the norm to not change but then I was talking to someone who couldn't believe that people don't change their babies at night so I was trying to get a sense of what people tend to do. People seem touchy about the subject though...
