Do you count ounces before or after you have added the formula?

I make up 5 ounce bottles but once I have added the formula there is nearly 6 ounces in the bottle, when counting how many ounces she drinks do I count 5 or 6?

i think youd count it as 5 chick as theres five ounces of water and 5 scoops x

You count it before you add the formula..

you add 5 scoops of formula, which is also 5 ounces. You add the formula to 5 ounces of water, therefore while it may total almost 6oz in volume, it's still only 5oz you're giving them.

put the water in first then the formula and like others have said still only 5 oz if thats all u put in x

I was just about to ask this same question so thanks ladies :)

good question..i kind of always wonderd this too x

its so funny this is what i was asking when jess was first born i thought i was feeding her all wrong but yeah it 5 oz xxx

I tried to explain this to my husband, but he refuses to grasp the concept. He also adds the water after the formula and only up to the amount he wants and I keep telling him that will make our LO constipated. *sigh* Men!
