Do you Feed on demand?

I feed on demand. If I didn't, I would have no ear drums left, and Cameron would have no vocal cords left from crying so much and loud! LOL.....

He usually eats every 3 hours on average. I like the idea of feeding him a bit more before bed, I can't remember who wrote that.

He sounds just like Finnlay!!lol!x

I have routine. Well 4 hours after she wakes till bed. But she wakes same time every day so feeds same give or take half hour, if she's sleeping at a bottle time i'll wake her.

Same as kaylynn said, write it down, helps soo much as you can see how much, at what times. I couldn't feed on demand, 6oz here, 1oz there? What size bottles do you make up etc?

Elijah is fed on demand - but it seems like there is a routine his body follows. he feeds 6oz (sometimes 9oz) every two hours.
Thats how we do it. On demand but her body has set its own routine so its pretty easy to tell when she's gonna want to eat again.

We feed Ruby every 3 hours (7, 10, 1, 4, 7, then a dream feed at about 10.30pm). She's been going through the night since 6 weeks.
We follow Tracey Hogg's brilliant advice in her 'baby whisperer' books. Basically she believes that routine is better than letting the baby lead. I was skeptical about this at first, now I agree wholeheartedly! I used to feed Ruby every 2 hours but after reading the advice it turns out that I was often misinterpreting her tired cries for hunger. With more rest, she now comfortably goes 3 hours during the day and 8 hours at night.

However, we would of course not let her scream until the next feed if she was extra hungry one day or was having a growth spurt!

I feed on demand,it's difficult with two of them,it's like we're living in ''growth spurts land'' and all i seem to be doing all day is making up bottles.
I really need a routine, but they scream so bad if they don't get fed when they want to lol
Sometimes i offer bottle and they refuse, play happily for 5 mins and then they just start screaming and drain the whole bottle lol it's like it comes out of nowhere :)

take my hat off to you ladies with twin/multiples!

i fed my son when he was hungry. I felt bad trying to do a routine, no one makes me wait 4 hours for food if i'm hungry, ya know what i mean?

I feed on demand, I would have preferred to BF, so it seems closer to that than sticking to a routine. I make up 7oz bottles and 4oz bottles, Freya usually has 6-7oz and goes 3-5 hours inbetween during the day. I top her up with an oz or two before she goes to sleep at night and she goes from 7pm-4am then 4.30am-8.30am ish. Sometimes during the day she only wants a little bit so she has a 4oz bottle. We seem to know when she wants a lot or a bit. Works for us and she's happy. :)

I've always fed on demand, still do now. He settled into a routine of about every 3 hours by himself quite early on. I guess if he didn't and he was going hourly then I probably would have considered a routine but I never really needed to x
