Do you get lo to do any jobs in the house ?

Waters the flowers (his favourite)
"Helps" wash the cars (he makes it dirtier somehow but hey! ;))
He "vacuums" his room
And he does clean up after the clean up song.
When he was younger, he would also dust

My LO is still pretty young but I've started giving her little tasks here and there so this is a helpful thread!

She always wipes down her high chair tray with a towel when she's done eating. She also loves putting stuff away - toys, books, clothes, trash, whatever. Oh, and she gets her own shoes and coat when we're going out as well as my shoes sometimes, if she's feeling particularly helpful ;)

Asher has to tidy his room and play area every evening before he goes to bed. He helps put away his clean clothes and helps me fold laundry (he loves towels although I normally have to re-do them!) He has a little broom so he loves to pretend he's sweeping.

The only things she has to do is clean any mess she has made deliberately and help tidy her toys away. Everything else is optional at the moment but she wants to help do everything.

With both:-

Tidy up their toys
Put clothes in the washing machine

Joshua:

Put his dirty clothes in the laundry basket
Puts dirty dishes in the sink

Jacob:
Puts some clean pots away (plastic ones, don't trust him with breakable ones yet!)
He 'helps' with the hoover (holds onto it when I'm doing it)
Will sometimes bring me things when I ask (nappy, shoes etc)

I've tried asking Joshua to make me a cup of coffee and a bacon sarnie but apparently "he's too little" Pffft he is four!

Sam has been tidying his toys away since he could walk - although admittedly the novelty has well worn off and we have to do really persuade him to do it.

He puts the clothes in the washing machine.

He brings me the cats bowls and I fill them and he brings the food to them (shouting "tea time cats" while doing so :))

I leave the grocery shopping in the hall and he carrys/drags it into the kitchen for me (I try to grab the more delicate bags myself!)

I really want him to have lots of appropriate wee jobs when he gets older to 'earn' his pocket money. DH never did anything like that and it shows!! Think it makes life easier in the end being brought up knowing life isn't all play and being waited on!
