Do you sometimes have days where you feel like you haven't fed properly/enough?

Today was a day like that for me! :nope:

She fed well at 130am then 4am woke again for another but was on and off (as usual) for a good couple of hours then was back sound asleep. She then fed again from about 730-830ish on and off with snoozes in-between. This is fairly normal for us. She fed again at 11ish for quite a long time (both breasts) then again at 3ish, again for a longish time. Tonight, however, she hasn't fed much at all - 6ish she had a small feed, then 7 another small feed, then 730 a little top-up. She then went to sleep and I roused her to give her another feed at 930ish, where she fed quite well but not for a hugely long time. I will be feeding her again at 11ish before I go off to bed.

She started Gaviscon yesterday for reflux, but I haven't been giving the full amount (you can give 6 a day - she hasn't had that today). She usually does a huge poo at around 5pm each day and hasn't done one today at all apart from 2 tiny tiny little green specs in her nappy! She is weeing plenty, though.

I've ended today thinking I haven't fed properly, but I demand feed. Usually she has about 4 good long feeds per day and 6 or 7 smaller ones! :S Do other people have days like this?!

I totally have days like this - and often feel like that through the night. I can usually hear Sophie swallowing when she is drinking well but some feeds even though she is sucking, and on for a really long time, I don't hear anything and feel like she hasn't fed well.

I guess they would soon let us know if they hadn't fed well, though, I suppose. :)

I'd get home from work and he'd spend 3 hours on the boob practically non stop and then wake every 2 hours to eat during the night. Now, I've found out my LO really hasn't been eating enough. He hasn't been gaining weight like he should have. :(

i dont demand feed so i know he gets fed every 3 hours during the day and takes 6 good sized feeds and doesnt feed in the night, hes gaining weight fine, Demand feeding would do my head in

She consistently feeds at the same sorts of times each day, but yesterday she just wasn't interested. She'd started Gaviscon the day before for very bad reflux, and also had constipation yesterday so I wonder if that didn't help. I am sure that some days I just forget when I have fed. I looked in my diary where I write every feed and its length and actually she did feed OK yesterday, just not as well as others.

Like you, Seity, Isabella has not been gaining weight as fast as she should be, but she is gaining about 5 or 6oz a week now (we had a blip where she only gained 3oz). The problem has been linked to her reflux which seems to be quite bad. Started treatment but it isn't really helping at the moment...

I think with the reflux it can be uncomfortable for them to eat, so maybe she was having a bad reflux day and just ate a bit less. It sounds like she's doing well overall though.
Your 7 weeks 9lb13 is a lot more than Gabriel's 15 weeks 8lb9.

What was Gabriel to start with, Seity? Isabella was still 9lb13oz at 8 weeks weigh-in so has plateaued a bit.

did they always fall happily into the 3 hour scheule? Mine has a habit of snacking and I want to try to break this so they feed well and less often.

how did you stretch them to go for 3 hours?

He was 5lb13oz to start. I've got his growth chart:

I can have days like that. I just keep trying to remind myself that if LO was hungry he'd be making a huge fuss! :hugs:

I've had a week like this. He's been a miserable crank and only wants to feed for a few minutes before either getting distracted or having a good bitching cry. It's doing my head in but he hasn't been acting hungry so I figure he's getting what he needs.
