Do you think I should be concerned?

I had my first consultant appointment 2 weeks ago and the doctor was asking me about my periods. At what age I started, if I'm regular, have they changed at all recently. I was not well on the day and was very very anxious about the appointment, and to be honest was finding at hard to remember my own medical history let alone anything else.

Since the appointment I have had time to think, and when I do think back my periods have changed. In the past 2 years they have become more painful and the flow is not bright red but dark red/brown, turning to a kind of brown sludge (sorry, tmo), right at the end. I am sure thay used to be bright red for at least a few days.

I am now worried that I have something wrong or am going through an early menopause or something. Do you think I should be worried?

Thanks

Im no expert but that doesnt sound like early onset menopause to me so i think you can rule that one out! However, what you are experiencing is relevant and if i were you i would call the consultant and forward that information to him as he obviously needs all the info you can furnish to make an accurate care plan for you...

Good luck, chicken!

Thanks Omi. I have another appt a week on monday so I will make sure I discuss this in more detail then.
Still worried but i guess it can wait.
Thanks

It could be a whole list of things, so try not to worry, I get the same and it is because of my PCOS. I find if I write things down before I go to the appointment it helps me LOTS, as i get really anxcious whilst in there too xxxx
