Do you think this could be a miscarriage?

My friend found out she was pregnant last week and today started bleeding. She said it is only very little bleeding and it's pink, not red. She would probably be just over 5 weeks today. Does this look bad do you think? She has been worried about this pregnancy from the start because for the last 2 weeks, she's had quite bad cramping (which she didn't have with her first pregnancy) and the bleeding started today. She has gone to the doctors and is booked in for a scan next week. I'm really worried for her and would like to give her some hope. I've told her that some people bleed the whole way through their pregnancies and give birth 9 months later with no problems. What do you think?

I had what felt like period pains up till around week 10 of being pg. As long as the blood's not bright red she should be fine but it's definitely worth her getting checked out.

My miscarriage started with pink bleeding there wasnt very much at all it was about the 5th or sixth day that the bleeding got heavy and red i have heard of people having this and going on to have a healthy baby too only the scan will be able to tell really hope all goes well for your friend x

I hope she is okay.... My m/c started with very small amounts of pinky blood on a friday then more on monday and it got on the tuesday...

It could be fine though, a lot of people have bleeding and its fine. xx

I hope she is okay too.. a mc is a terrible thing to go through.. I had some bleeding at week 5.. it was pink and then red.. went to an early ultrasound at week 9(that is the earliest they could get me in!! grr..) and found that my twin babies had died.. one around the week 5.. and one a few days before the scan.

I hope for her sake.. that everything is fine. It is soo nice of you to try and find hope for her. What a good friend.

i bled three times one at 6 wk, 12 wk, 17 wk it was only pink and i had the cramping i was worried too and asked my doctor she said it was just my uterus stretching the cramping went around 12 wks maybe what your friend is having is an implantation bleed. 1 in 3 women will experiance bleeding whilst pregnant i hope this helps you but if she does start to find clots then go to the hospital they should of gave her a scan straight away they did with me at 6 wks xx

I really hope she's ok. My other friend has 2 kids, the first one she had no bleeding at all and the second time she had bleeding all the way through but everything was fine. I told her about that.

She found out a week ago she was pregnant but had cramping, so she was worried and paranoid because of me I think, because I had cramping but my midwife told me that it was nothing to worry about, it was just my uterus stretching and my body getting ready for pregnancy. I know the cramping is nothing to worry about in the beginning, but when it's accompanied by bleeding, it just doesn't sound good. I'm hoping all will be ok but if it isn't, I'm sure she'll get through it. I think she just thinks any symptoms that I had aren't a good sign but I keep reminding her my symptoms (even though I miscarried) aren't a bad sign as my body still thought it was pregnant even though the baby had died. And I remember when I was in the first trimester, most girls felt like their period was on it's way because of AF cramps but they are now in the second trimester so it's obviously nothing to worry about.

I hope she's ok. Bless her though, she said to me next time I'm pregnant, I should just go to the doctors and say I'm bleeding so they will give me a scan. Don't know if I'll be able to lie though. I wouldn't want to jinx anything.

Just thought I'd update this thread. My friend went for her scan today and all is ok. She say the little heartbeat flashing away. Such a relief!

Thanks. Well she told me today that she's still bleeding a bit but hopefully it's nothing. She's wondering if she's just going to bleed the whole way through this pregnancy but as long as the baby is ok, I don't suppose it matters too much x
