Do you use dettol spray after preparing chicken/pork?

just wondering if everyone else has the dettol fever too? im always freaked when cooking chicken that i'm going to give the whole family salmonella! so i always dettol everywhere! who says scaremongering doesnt work!!!

It depends. I quite often prepare it in my hands so i just anti-bac my hands. If i do actually cut it up etc on the sides then i do use an anti-bac spay - not dettol though.

I normally full the sink up with hot soapy water before cutting/preparing any meat and cut it up on 1 of them tea tray thingy's as we don't have a chopping board then put that and the knife etc into the hot water & wash. x

Yeah even though I have colour coded chopping boards I use disinfectant on my side all the time. I also disinfect my living room floor every day (Tegan still crawls when she's not in her wheelchair as she can't walk)

I just flash and dettol everything lol. I'm paranoid too with raw meat x

I always clean my kitchen about 3-4 times a day if it doesnt smell fresh and lemony im not happy lol but yes i always disinfect after preparing chicken im really fussy about it.

Everything gets bleached and esp anything thats touched meat/poultry....My hardcore clean freak Mother instilled this in us

I get thru ALOT of bleach.

I do. When I've cut meat up I pour neat dettol over the board and knife, then leave it to one side before washing it in hot soapy water. I also scrub my hands too as I'm paranoid about raw meat. xxx

Yeah, I literally drench the surfaces in dettol after preparing raw meat.

I use dettol spray all the time no matter what im making, use it after washing the work surfaces down as well, mainly out of habbit, dont know if it makes any difference or not xx

Nope, the kitchen gets a daily clean and that's it. Meat doesn't bother me anymore than anything else. I've never had food poisioning ever and my LO has never had any infections or S&D. I'm a farmers daughter maybe that has something to do with it!. I just use common sense rather than the hype of Dettol!

I love bleach, we get through about two bottles a day, so I use that and then milton spray cos I also love the smell of that.
