Ok before anyone has a fit I am NOT thinking of moving LO onto this yet, she is only 4 and a half months.
I'm just curious to see if anyone is going to/has used follow on milk. I was reading a book included in the book bugs bag (uk) and it says its unnecessary and just continue with normal formula?

i did just because my baby had slightly low iron and the follow on milk has double the amount of iron in it! my hv said in general you dont need to change...

I tried it for a couple of days and my lo didn't sleep and seemed more hungry than normal. Changed her back to what she had before and everything went back to normal. (Hv told me she didn't need to move to follow on milk and that it was a branding gimmic)

Thanks! I wonder what the real difference is then?

We do but only because we use ready to feed and it comes in a bigger bottle in the follow on so its more economical x

Nope, we did buy it but like someone else said LO seemed more hungry and woke up in the night for feeds so we swapped back to the first milk. HV said there is no real reason to swap, and that it's just a marketing gimmick.

Nope my LO was always hungry when I had him on it, I will use it if there's no hungry baby or first milk left though. He just has to have an extra bowl of wheetabix in the day other wise he needs a nightfeed.

I'm gonna stick with her normal milk, not going to bother with cows milk. Cows milk works out more expensive too, its such a rip off here.

I didn't. My HV also said there was no need and as LO was thriving on first infant milk (and had problems feeding and with weight loss in the first 3 weeks) I didn't want to risk changing.

It does save a bit of money but as they are only on 3 bottles a day by that stage anyway it's probably minimal.

I use it. My LO has been fine on it and it works out cheaper for us.

He has never been hungrier but the. He only has two bottles and had three meals a day with snacks also.

We continued with our Los 1st milk formula until now (almost 11 months). We had a lot of issues with constipation when he was around 6 months with food so wanted to keep his milk the same. Our hv said there's no need when we asked her. X

My LO is on it . Haven't noticed any difference and its the same price

Now u mention it my lo has seemed hungrier since the swap... Hmm...

No, with my son I just stayed with first milk then swapped to cows milk at a year. My daughter is still on first milk at 11 months. If it ain't broke don't fix it as they say.

We use Hipp Follow On. I like that it contains more iron, and it works out cheaper too. LO hasn't had any problems since switching.
