babaslings are good for newborns, other than mobys i dont know what other carriers to suggest.

youre def better off with a pouchsling or a moby for a newborn

I didn't like my babasling for Sofia as a newborn, it didn't feel secure enough to contain her when she wriggled. I use it now at 5 months in the joey position which she loves, but again I can't use it handsfree so only do it out on walks.
