Change your babys nappy when you feed him during the night? I change him before every night feed, but am wondering if I should just leave it or not?

He usually has only wet nappies during the night but I wouldn't want him sitting in pee for ages either :/

My LO has his 9pm feed and then I change his diaper after he eats. He is usually down for the night around 9:30pm and wakes around 5am and I change him after his feed.

When he was younger I changed his diaper every 3 hours no matter if there was only a little pee or alot. He hasn't had a diaper rash yet and I would like to keep it that way.

yes i do change him at every feed as well ...like brit1986 Trystan never had a rash so far and i think changing him often make the diference:)

Up to 8 weeks old Izzy was still waking for milk in the night, we would dream feed her.
It depended how long it had been since she was changed really. If she woke for milk 2 hours after the last then I probably didn't change her...if it were longer I would have.

Thing is once she was 8 wks old she slept through 8 hours, and 12 hrs at 12 weeks...so clearly her nappy was on for 8 and 12 hours (and is on for 12 hrs a night now)

She never had a nappy rash until she started to teeth at 6 months...and has never even had it worse than couple of red blotches when her teeth are coming through. So it has done her botty no harm being a nappy all night.

I change him at every feed including through the night.

He always has peed tho when I do it, its up to you if you think your LO is okay though...

We did change Joe's nappy when he woke for night feeds, but made it as quick & quiet as possible. Like the other girls, luckily he's never had any nappy rash so hopefully thats helps.
Saying that he now sleeps from around 10pm til 7/8am with no nappy change or feed as he sleeps through and still no nappy rash, but 1 really big nappy in the morning :)

I change her before every feed even during the night.

It's usually just full of wee :haha: but there has been a night where she'd pooed so i'm glad i change it!

Thats what I do too - I was just wondering if I was making more work for myself.

LO slept through from half 9 till half 4 this morning :-O I have never felt such a heavy nappy when I changed him!!!

I change for my LO before every feed. As he sleeps through the night, I change for him before the morning feed. But when he was younger, & wakes up for a feed, I used to skip changing unless if he soiled his diaper.

I usually change Evie before a feed, day or night. It's our feeding routine now, she knows she'll get a bottle after she has a clean bum :)
I used to change her after a bottle but I like to have her elevated for 20 minutes after a feed, otherwise she'll just spit up while I'm changing her.

We also change Chloe before every feed, as we found changing her after a feed at night woke her up more (she screams blue murder as soon as her nappy is off) so it took longer to settle her. We did try skipping one change at nighttime but found her nappy was so wet at the next change that it wasnt fair to her.
