Hi, everyone!

About three days ago, I had a sudden sharp cramp right where I usually get period cramps. That lasted about 5 minutes and only happened once. The next day, I had the same thing happen, but it happened a few more times. Yesterday, I had a lot of pressure build up right around where I get period cramps and, by the time I got off work at 9pm, it had shifted from uncomfortable to almost painful. This morning, I went to the doctor, and she diagnosed me with a mild UTI. I've never had one before, so I have no idea what they feel like. All the symptoms I'm seeing, though, don't really sound like what I have. It doesn't hurt for me to urinate, my urine is the same color and smell as always, there's never any blood (just some occasional yellow-greenish CM), I do urinate more frequently but it's at least 1/2 to 3/4 the normal amount (meaning I never go to the bathroom and can't urinate), and I've got that same pressure again today. It's bordering on cramps today, but it's on and off instead of constant like it was yesterday. I went off the pill on 4/5 and, if my cycles stay the same as they were on the pill, my period is due Sunday 5/3. All of my HPTs have been negative so far. I've also been experiencing ridiculous mood swings (happy to sad to angry to sad, etc.) and nausea during sex (which has NEVER happened before).

This whole situation doesn't really make sense to me. Can anyone tell me what this sounds like?

I've had a UTI without all the usual symptoms but yes you can cramp with a UTI. You don't have to see visible blood in your urine and you can have normal looking and normal smelling urine and still have a UTI. Frequent urination is actually a symptom of UTI. As far as the cramps it can also be your body readjusting off the pill. When I was on Yaz I barely cramped and one I came off I cramped worse, so that can be a possibility. Also I get cramps down low if I have to do a bowel movement really bad(sorry TMI), and I get lots of pressure too when that happens. HTH :)

Hello there! That sounds like no fun :( You may not have the "normal" UTI symptoms, but it's a pretty cut.dry test for a UTI, so I don't think your doc would diagnose you with a UTI if u didn't have one. Again, seriously no fun! Hope you feel better and GL to you!
