I have a bit of a complicated situation and I'm not sure how to deal with it. I am a UK citizen but permanently resident in Italy. At the moment I'm spending the summer with my parents in Scotland. Whilst here I have discovered that I am pregnant. I'm not due to go back to Italy until early September. I'm assuming I'm entitled to medical care here as I am still a UK citizen but not sure how to go about registering with a doctor etc. Do you think it would be best if I returned to Italy early to see my own doctor? That would obviously mean flying which I know isn't recommended during the first trimester. I've had some bleeding and cramping so far and would really like to see a doctor but I just don't know how the system works here. I guess I should maybe just call up the local doctors surgery and ask them what to do. Does anyone have any advice?
