does anybody use the dishwasher

We were staying at in laws at the weekend and I put one through the dishwasher and it came out pink!!lol
You can put them through.just check that they have the dishwashing symbol on the bottom.and I think they have to go in the top drawer!!dont ask me about the teats though

yeah you can, i just wondered if anyone did lol - i have such strange thoughts sometimes

My stainless steel coffee mug says do not use in dishwasher ...

what does that mean??

suzib; i would use the dishwasher if I had one, even if it meant all my bottles went pink! haha

i've just asked how long you have to keep sterilising for and think i can stop so i'll be using the fabulous dishwasher because i did a couple of times and they seemed fine- again not sure about the teats though!

i just dont understand the reply
i asked about bottles not stainless steel coffee mugs

- you get baskets to put the teats in as well :)

Is that instead of sterilising? I think its adviced to sterilise for at least the first 6 months to 1 year.

I have a dish washer but i always wash them by hand then sterilise them. how many bottles do you have?

I was planning on using the dishwasher once he is older instead of sterilising as the heat will def help with that, is that what your doing ... im confusied sorry?

no i dont do it, sorry to confuse i was just asking if anybody did - i wash mine with fairy liquid :)

For daycare (childminder- whatever..) I have always used the dishwasher for bottles & teats. Right now I'm on break from working though and never have enough stuff for a whole load - so I handwash Megan's bottles. Here in the U.S. we dont sterilize out bottles - just wash in hot soapy water. My dishwasher does have a sterilizer feature though & even without it - it gets much hotter than just when I hand wash.
Only time mine ever turn pink is if I am washing something with tomato on it at the same time.

For most bottles the whole lot can go in the dishwasher - I have TT and Dr Brown and they are both fine. They have to go in the top drawer, and avoid putting them in with anything tomatoey. Also, make sure the teats are the right way up or they'll come out full of yukky water.

I've only done it a few times TBH, I prefer washing them by hand cos I'm too impatient to wait for the dishwasher cycle to finish!

lol, I just asked how many bottles because my dishwasher takes ages and im impatiant enough waiting for sterilier or kettle to boil lol!

Once LO is on proper food (been told by HV to start weaning now :S) and over 6 months will prob just use the dishwasher and not the steriliser anymore.

So i am guessing the teats dont melt?

I have never sterilized my son's bottles. They have always gone through the dishwasher with a super hot drying cycle and he is perfectly fine. :)

No the teats don't melt.
I occasionally use the dishwasher just to wash not steralise (and like a prune put 1 bottle in with some tomato stuff, DOH!)

If you think about it teats can and do go in steam steraliser's and microwave's and don't melt.

Our dishwasher, the hotpoint aquarius has a baby sterilising setting but havent used it yet. Figured it would take longer than my sterilizer

x

I use the dishwasher for quintins bottles when I go over there. nipples and everything.

I pop everything in the dishwasher and then steralise. I made the mistake of putting some in with a Spag Bol pan and everything went orange. My dishwasher also has a habit of turning the teats around and filling them with water so I have to rinse them...guess I'm just lazy and don't want to do it all by hand!
