Does anyone else not rate the sound on the angelcare monitor?

We moved house this week and we decided to put our LO straight into her own room as there's not enough room in our bedroom now and there's enough change for her without her then moving into another room in a few weeks.
We have the angelcare monitor, mainly for the movement pad as it puts my mind at rest.
This morning, i could my LO stirring on the monitor so I got up to use the toilet before getting her. Whilst in the bathroom (next to her bedroom), I could her coughing but there was silence in the monitor which was in my hand. I'm worried now incase its not picking everything up. Also our new next door neighbours have a baby, the houses are detached but could there be interference?

I'm wondering whether to change monitors?

I havn't noticed a problem with it. I have 2 monitors (yes crazy neurotic mum!). The angelcare movement one and also a motorola video one.

The sound seems to work in different ways. With the motorola I can always hear a bit of noise, whereas with the angelcare, you hear nothing unless it picks up a sound and this triggers the sound to switch on until no sound can be heard (i hope this makes sense). Perhaps the cough was too quiet to trigger the sound.
Also don't know how much difference the volume setting makes.

If i have the sound turned on for both my monitors they interfer with oneanother. I usually use the sound for the angelcare because you do not continually hear the background sound.

Picks up every little sound here. When my baby got older I'd turn it right down at night as it would keep waking me up when she tossed and turned

I know what you mean. I have the monitor on one end of her cot and I have white noise playing in the other side of her cot and the monitor doesn't pick that up at all. I'm wondering if its because its a constant noise.

I actually couldnt stand the angelcare and gave it away. I dont think my house structure was made for it for a start, could never heard a thing

I don't have the angelcare, but on our video monitor we had the same problem with sound at first, until we realised there was a sensitivity setting, we now have it on the highest setting. it goes silent if LO is just breathing, but if there is a slight change in his breathing, or if he even rolls over, we get sound now.. might there be different settings on yours? x

I haven't had a problem with hearing her on my angelcare. I thought it picked up sound really well.

That makes sense as we have it set to low because I didn't want the alarm going off all the time and scaring me at night. Will change the setting to see if that improves the sound.

I dont have an Angelcare but I have a Levana video monitor and noticed the other day when I was trying to get LO to nap in her crib that she had rolled and was stuck, the monitor did not pick up the sound of her wimpering!!! What if I was asleep??? Will be returning it....
