Does anyone get this?

Hopefully i can describe this right lol.
When getting alex to latch on he shakes his head about alot, i can get the nipple to his mouth and he turns his head away, almost like an involuntary movement. Because of this it can take a good few attempts to get him lached on.

Hes not crying when he does this, just grunting (that he does when hes hungry lol) and has his lips pouted out for rooting.

Does anyone elses baby do this? Is it a normal thing?

Ada did that for the first 6 weeks or so. Normal.

Brenn used to peck at my boob like a chicken or something. I think it has to do with learning to control their muscles.

Peck, yep thats exactly what he does! I find it kinda cute, though not so cute when youre eating out with a friend an he pecks and takes 5 mins to latch on

I do remember, it was funny and annoying at the same time when Brenn would do it, but it will pass.

Not breastfeeding but my son does this with his bottle. What it seems like to me is that he's so excited to eat he's just trying to get the nipple into his mouth faster....but it always ends up taking more time.

This is what it seems like with Aisling, she sees my boob and gets too excited to stay still!
